Bo Obama: Comic Book Star!

First Dog Bo Obama stars in Puppy Power comic book

First dog Bo Obama will be the hero of his own comic book when “Puppy Power: Bo Obama,” written by Paul J. Salamoff and drawn by Emmy Award winning Disney and Warner Brothers artist Keith Tucker is released in September.

It will be offered with two covers, by Joshua Labello and Keith Tucker.

In this comic, Bo gives children an insider’s look at the White House, showing them who the real “top dog” is in Washington.

The suggested retail price is $3.99.

Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers Meet First Dog Bo Obama

Spider-Man may have had the pleasure of meeting the 44th President of the United States, but now it’s the Pet Avengers’ turn to team with a member of the Obama clan – First Dog Bo Obama.

The furriest team of heroes in the Marvel Universe will soon be joined by Bo in Lockjaw and the Pet Avengers #3 (MAY090507D, $2.99) – expected to ship this July along with a Niko Henrichon Variant (MAY090508D, $2.99). The famous canine will then return for a full guest appearance in the fourth issue, which will be solicited in June’s Marvel PREVIEWS.

In this third issue, Bo aids Lockjaw, Lockheed, Redwing, Hairball, the new Frog Thor, and more super-hero companions in their quest for the Infinity Gems, which will lead the team to the bottom of the ocean and bring them face-to-furry-face with Giganto.

And there went all the charm and wonder of the Pet Avenger's down the commode, leaving a nasty stain on the ceramic.

You gotta be fucking kidding me.

Look, I'm mostly positive on Obama. I voted for the man. On the whole, I approve of his administration.

But I am SICK AND FUCKING TIRED of the media whoring his and his family's public image. I don't want to see another goddamn comic with his face - or his dog's - on the cover.

(Note that if Socks Clinton appears in any of these comics, I will take back all of this. I loved that damn cat.)

you make it sound like the media is the one pushing it. I think people want to see his family and his pet and so every form of media possible is jumping onto the bandwagon desperately

In the Beijing market I was in yesterday you could buy "Yes We Can" Obama masks for quite cheap. The same masks were on sale in various shops around Tokyo on my tour there last week.

He must be the world's biggest celebrity.

Okay seriously though, I find it weird. Not annoying but it's just weird to me. ^_^*

That's pretty darn ridiculous.

I will admit though that the Bluewater political biographies have been pretty good. They're totally honest about their pro-Obama bias but still fair to the other side. As short biographies they're pretty well written.

The art isn't perfect but it's better than you'd expect for a comic about real people from a small publisher.

Well, I think this is infinately stupid, but my ten year old sister would love it and beg my mom to buy it. I guess it's a smart marketing choice, even if it's a pretty dumb looking concept.

I have a Pope John Paul comic. That was camp. I could give two flying shits about an Obama comic, because while one was cute, he's about to have his own Obama-verse and rogue's gallery.

It's ridiculous, and frankly for all the hype that brought the good man into the office, he hasn't made good on any promises yet for shit. Fuck, I've done more good this year than he has - I'm a school teacher - let ME meet Spider-Man, too.

...You know, I am not actually sure whether our prime minister has any pets. He's, um, got a kid? I think? At least one of 'em. A boy, yeah, because I remember him saying he totally doesn't hate the arts and artists because he plays piano with his son and that proves it, somehow.

I am unsure whether I should be ashamed of my ignorance of my leader's home life, or very proud.
