Another Airwalker post...
So, as previously stated the first Airwalker was killed in the service of Galactus. Galactus SO loved his herald he made an android version. Alas like all such creations it went alittle wonkie in the end...

The only thing better would have been if the kid brought Gabriell to show and tell at his school.

Nice one Thor. Next time Avengers have a get-together be sure to relate your views about machine intelligences to Vision, I'm sure he'll appreciate them.

See, even though Warren Ellis has already given us fair warning (http://www.weeklycrisis.com/2008/07/recent-changes-how-you-could-be-famous.html?showComment=1217217300000), I can totally see a quality miniseries here. The cosmic cloak is "Life-Sustaining", correct? Meaning that it kept him alive, invulnerable to things like harmful atmospheres or the vacuum of space. The 'cosmic power' part, unlike that of the Silver Surfer, was in the armour rather than the herald itself.

So I can imagine little Kevin growing up as this tall, gangly teen who isn't completely conspiracy theorist nuts, but has this definite belief (based upon his unusual life - his dad died the same day as the old Battlestar? Uh?) - that he should travel into space and see new worlds. Sort of the difference between a church-goer with a definite belief in God and a wacky Tract-reading Baptist.

Anyway, Kevin has repressed the traumatic memory of seeing his best pal from space being smashed with a hammer, right? So, unlike the E.T. kid, he's not socially vilified for being weird - he's just always troubled about his feelings about space and time. Then, one morning, he goes into the old barn with his dad to do some fixing-up and finds an old box - a box containing the armour and cosmic-cloak projector of Gabriel the Air-Walker.

Instantly, old memories flood back - accompanied with the answer to his conviction. Despite the fact that the armour is not built for a gangly teen, and hangs off him; despite the fact that he'll lose his friends and family; despite the fact that he realises that Galactus, the Silver Surfer and the Nova Corps will be hunting him down for dishonouring a dead man/android...he dons the suit, and prepares - using his powers to take a few friends along - to journey into the beyond.

That would be so awesome.

Query: What happens when he inevitably runs into Thor?

"...Didnt I kill you? Have you just grown slender since last we met?"

"Dude, shouldn't you be speaking in ye oldey-worldy?"

Actually, on reflection I think I prefer the title "KEVIN: The Boy Who Walks On Air."

I may get my buddy to draw this.

If they try to reboot Darkhawk, anything is possible. How about if he is a troubled Emo kid ?????

Marvel has too many already - we just got The Melter this week. Lanky idealist normal guy who wants to go to space works better.

Uh, Thor? I realize you're really good at tossing that hammer and all, but isn't doing the whole smite-thine-enemy thing just a wee but risky when the enemy you're smiting happens to be holding hands with an adorable little snowsuit-wearing child? I mean, if Air-Walker had been just a liiiiiiittle bit closer to him, that kid would have been scarred by shrapnel at the very least. Not to mention the fact that they're about fifty feet off the ground. The possibilities for disaster are staggering.
