The thought of bondage with Diana melts Bruce's face.

YAAAAAAARGH! That last panel is freaking me out! It's like Bruce is going, "Oh, fuck, my face is fucking melting!"

What the hell is Arthur riding on? Why is a giant drill poking out of that poor animal's nose?

I assume he's riding a giant narwhal. Everything's better with narwhals!

This is true. This comic is beyond horrible, but I'm willing to forgive it for the narwhals.

Is that... a Narwhal? Oh god, it's a fucking Narwhal in a Batman comic. I've officially seen everything there is to see.

That last panel needs a "D'oh!"

On a random note, Narwhals don't hang out in tropical waters. Do your whale research, Kevin Smith!

Hey, if Aquaman wants to ride a Narwhal, he'll ride a narwhal. Natural habitats are no obstacle for the king of the seas!

I didn't know Aquaman had the ability to prevent an animal from dying in due to improper habitat. Ah well.

Either way, it seems a bit inconvenient to call a narwhal all the way there!

Nature obeys Aquaman's rules, not the other way around. :P

And really, he thought he was heading towards something Batman was running (swimming) away from. That is exactly the situation you need meter long horn/tooth things!

Perhaps Aquaman has access to megafauna that we haven't discovered yet? People thought the giant squid was a myth for a time, after all! GIANT NARWHALS: The Undiscovered Country Marine Mammal.

It is well established that Bats is into bondage, after all. Case in point: tied-up Robin, and why Bats waits up to the last minute to save him.

I was distracted by the fact that it's very likely Kevin Smith said "make him walking out of the water, like that scene with James Bond in Casino Royale".

Still though. That is a nice bulge.

I know everyone's focussing on the bulge and the narwhale and Bruce's face melting in that final shot, but seriously?

Aquaman's dialogue -- that's not Aquaman talking. It can't be. Has he ever been light and friendly and playful and jokey ever? Ever? Aquaman is, and as far as I'm aware almost always has been, gruff and regal and stand-off-ish.

This just is... wrong.

Yeah, he's had a sense of humour, and been a bit playful with Bruce too, in fact. Of course, I am only making that assessment on one issue of Gotham Knights, but still. It has happened!

Bruce is doing his best imitation of Daniel Craig in Casino Royale walking out of the water there. Nice.

And you know, this is part of why I wish we could have Aquaman around these days (in non-Black Lantern form). Just hangin' out, riding narwhals.

I usually like the "battle scars" as a little realistic touch, (Batman's just a dude after all) but exclusively drawing them on the upper body and only as whip marks makes him look less like a seasoned crime fighter and more like a really freaky BDSM devotee.
Which, come to think of it, is not that far off.

In other news, I love Heckling Hobo Aquaman. There should be a talking action figure.

Maybe Bruce got these scars *before* he became Batman. After all, he did a lot of traveling around the world to get the training and knowledge to become Batman. Maybe some of those scars are from before he started wearing kevlar/nylons.
