Are there things worse than death ???
Halloween week. (hump day!)

I think there are things worse than death, I am troubled by those girls who wear UGG boots...

From Chamber of Chills # 4

This is a public domain tale of horror.

Better than Twilight!

Ugg boots are comfy.

I'm ok with them if people only wear them at home.

Most of it's pretty standard, but that "look behind you" shot where he's lit in yellow looks like it's straight out of Basil Wolverton.

Well, at least he got the girl. A happier end than I would've expected.

That bit where the ghost is gliding down the staircase towards him reminds me of a similar scene in 'House on Haunted Hill' - the original, with Vincent Price, not the remake. Was this written before or after that?

Before. I should like to see that film again. I'm going to a Hammer film marathon Halloween day.

A Hammer marathon sounds AWESOME. I'm going to one of the several Hammerabelia exhibitions in London tommorow, it should be pretty good!

House on Haunted Hill's available free on archive.org, by the way, if you can't get it elsewhere!

Oh ? Any info on that ? I'll be in London the second week of December. A friend was telling em that Hammer was making films again (?) Christopher Lee and the actor that played The Comedian were in the first one. Have you heard anything of this ?????

Yup! The Resident, which is set in America (which seems a little odd to me) and a good old "spooky apartment disappearances" movie. And they've been putting out some series thing on myspace, I think, called "Beyond the Rave".

Looks like you're gonna miss all the events that are currently scheduled if you're around in December, they all finish Nov. 15th. There's "7.30 Fri December 11th - The Innocents [12A]. Dir Jack Clayton, 1961.
With ghost story read by actress Stephanie Cole and introductory talk by author Sir Christopher Frayling "
Showing in Bath, if you feel like a trip upwards, though! And the Hammer Glamour book'll be out by then I think, which would make for a fine souvenir..

That's too bad I'm going over for the SkinTwo rubberball and need something to do for the rest of the week.

'House on Haunted Hill' has more or less replaced 'Nightmare before Christmas' as my yearly spooky movie to watch on Halloween. Regretfully, All Hallow's Eve is not an eventful day in my neck of the woods - the town's too small for anything really interesting to occur, and I am sadly past my prime Trick-or-Treating years (although that wouldn't stop me if I had a group of friends to do it with, but they all live elsewhere) - so I generally just carve a pumpkin, wait fruitlessly for Trick-or-Treaters to come 'round (they never do; the place is too isolated), and watch a spooky movie. Thrillsville. Oh, well - 'House on Haunted Hill' is still a good film.

I found this really hard to read, I kept forgetting to notice the captions squeezed between the panels.
