To stitch... well, I'm not good at it myself, but you use the thread to hold the edges together. So, ah, put it in his flesh, push it through to the other side of the wound -- an okay distance, you don't want it to tear -- and then push it back through. Do that along the way until it's holding together. So it has to be a bit tight too.
