Roger yawned and stretched, fingers curling into the headboard, toes pointing to the footboard. He felt good, well-rested and ready for another big day.
Then he remembered where he was and looked over the bed, hoping he hadn't disturbed Pucey's rest. |

| Tuesday June 2, 2008 - In Poland |

Adrian had only slept 4 hours when his inner clock told him it was time to get up again. This was no problem, he had worked efficiently on less sleep. But it always annoyed him when it was his 'own' fault, or his body's fault for being too dependent on a wellknown bed to be able to sleep properly.
After showering and shaving, he dressed in a normal black suit, a nice shirt and a tie. He knew some of the more traditional wizards preferred robes, but Adrian had found it more versatile to use modern clothing for work and then traditional clothes for more festive events. You couldn't just pull off your robe, but you could loosen your tie and take off the jacket, should negotiations get heated.
Like this he finally went into the sitting room he shared with Roger, wondering if the man was awake already at 6 am. As it was, Adrian was very ready for breakfast - and a morning run, but that was not going to happen here. |

| Sunday - Roger scouts Poland Take #2 |

Saturday night Robin's probing questions had Roger thinking about Adrian. True to his word, after having sex, Roger lay awake thinking about what sex with Adrian would be like. Sunday morning he wondered what it would be like to wake up with Adrian in his bed... in his arms. He'd been so good about never permitting himself such thoughts. Now the floodgates had opened and he couldn't stop.
He'd better sodding stop, Roger thought, as he portkeyed to the mansion that would be their guesthouse ( in Poland once again. ) |

The interrogation of Rudolphus LeStrange was four hours of insanity in Roger's opinion. Amongst the yelling of pureblood screed and old grievances, he'd managed to confess. But his words raised many more questions as to the appearance of the famous Potions Master and the consequent flurry of activity and recent deaths. Rioger moved to strike several accusations from the record, a move which his twohand picked witnesses acted on with no fuss. He knew the Minister would not tolerate this investigation leading to an investigation of Mr. Snape, now Headmaster of Hogwarts, particularly since ( Snape was one of the victims. ) |

Slumped down deep within the padded high-backed arm chair in the corner of his office, Roger knew he was in a daze, exhausted from lack of sleep and spending many hours out of doors through the Polish night. He also knew he was very close to ( inspiration. ) |

Roger’s eyes snapped open with a sense of alarm. He glanced about but the estate was silent. Then he realized his pocket was speaking to him. He maneuvered around on the branch, keeping a precarious hold and managed to pull out ( his speaking mirror ) |

Roger took in a deep breath and gazed around. His nose and senses drank in the Polish countryside. The estate was surrounded by gardens, lawns, and paths that gave way to woods. A road led away and vanished quickly into the trees. He and McLeod approached the front entrance and were greeted by a single black-clad wizard. A translation charm worked very well as the man showed them around the main rooms, leading them to the suite set aside for the ( British Ambassador ) |

Coming into the Ministry very much earlier than usual, Adrian went directly to the owlery to see if the Poles had replied already. That sped up the scans a little, to have the Ambassador looking you impatiently over your shoulder. So already at 6 he was able to send the message to Davies, using Hugin to be sure it would reach the man no matter where he was at the moment. He would rather give the man a little headstart at this, than waiting until the last second. He was fairly sure the Head Auror would come in early as well, but he might not...

A full week after the full moon and Roger felt almost human again, almost normal, until he took a look at the turns his life had taken. He'd taken a flatmate, started legal proceedings for Pack Davies, and exchanged ( civil conversation with Adrian Pucey. ) |

Adrian had decided to focus on work instead of his shirt and whatever uses the Minister had for it. He could only assume it was to bait Davies somehow, and that he likely also would be successful about it. Malfoy rarely engaged in something he doubted the outcome of.

The Minister sipped at his tea and still the reports came pouring in. There were whispers... rumors yesterday. And now Fenrir Greyback was dead. And Auror Davies had a werewolf lover. Lucius didn't know whether to feel relief or anger. He chose anger. Fenrir Greyback shot by muggle farmers on the doorstep of Severus' cottage!
Severus he would have to confront with care... and no little patience. But Pucey... He sent his secretary to personally fetch the Ambassador soonest. |

After spending Sunday doing nothing truly productive other than skimming through additional information he could gather on Poland, Adrian felt well-rested and prepared for a new work week when he stepped into his office monday morning at 7.30 sharp.

It had been quite late friday evening before Adrian finally made it out of the bowels of hell the Ministry, his briefcase filled to the brim with files on one subject alone.
Sodding Polish Werewolves... feral, whores, prize-fighters, assassins/executioners, thieves, saints, murderers... They had it all, and everything was in some form reported. He was frankly rather surprised at the sheer amount of intelligence the Ministry had on Poland. And how little of it was actually supplied by Polish sources. Malfoy certainly had spies everywhere.

"Ah, Ambassador Pucey. There you are," Lucius greeted his underling pleasantly. The boy no doubt consumed with curiosity this late in the day on a Friday, but not showing it.
"Have a seat." He indicated the chair to his left, the one with a certain shirt magically 'stuck' under the seat. It was a shirt he'd put by for just such a purpose. It was the shirt he'd worn the last time he'd seen a certain highly paid werewolf whore. Who he might never use again in the same capacity thanks to dear Severus' timely return.
"Tea?" he offered. He had only to ring a bell. |

When next Roger had a coherent thought, he found himself crouched on the floor, still in front of his door. It was well past bed time. There was a light supper on this desk. He sat and looked at it for a while then placed the tray outside his door and began writing in a journal.

"Because it's a secret," Roger said patiently for the fifth time. He'd put the children in their swimsuits and then street clothes over top. Robert was mystified by his father's strange excitement. Rhiannon was downstairs, in her kitchen, packing up a picnic basket, utterly thrilled that Roger was including his children so much with this new person in his life. She couldn't think of a better sign.
"He doesn't know how to relax and we must teach him. Are you ready to teach him your part?" Robert nodded solemnly. Roger turned to look at Rosa Lynne and she nodded as well.
