‘This is a horrible idea.’ Was all that repeated through her head all day long. Yet, the nagging feeling in her gut wouldn’t abide regardless of what she did, who she talked to or even in more personal moments. This feeling? This feeling was the darkness and monsters of inside gnawing away at your guts until all you knew was distress and dread. That feeling was the one that drove people to act without thought, to desperately reach for any fix they could find to make the chaos of their heads and hearts go away. Dante was well aware she’d fucked up and that knowledge? That was going to… To…. This was going to drive her fucking nuts at this rate. Begrudgingly she’d worked out a plan and as the day continued, more and more details were worked through in her head. It was almost laughable how easy reaching out would be. The other vigilante - little did she know - had handed Dante a perfect in to the other woman’s life and Artemis probably would be none the wiser until everything was said and done. Work was left early and a quick run to the store allowed the purchase of a burner phone. From here it was easy to venture home, pluck the bug she’d saved from Artemis’ original phone bugging out of the signal blocking bag and into the new burner phone. “Okay.” Dante breathed the word to herself feeling more nervous than she ought to be. Hopefully, she wouldn’t hit black ice blow back. That would be the last thing she fucking needed. No one wanted to be killed by an electric surge back. Yet any fears she had would instantly vanish as her mind melted into the bugged phone. Quickly her technopathy reached out to cloak the phone’s signal before honing in on the bug, on the bugs electricity, on where the data the bug was transmitting was going back to and- It worked. Dante had managed to reverse the trace on the phone. Her body breathed a sigh of relief even if her mind wouldn’t have a clue about the action. Melding into the network like this - fully submerged - her body was completely vulnerable. Good thing her living space was comfortable. There would be a shifting of her mind as she entered the phone. Okay, this was easy, would be easy. Well… It would have been easy if the other vigilante wasn’t already looking at her phone. Whatever app was on was flipped away from quickly and the pizza place that Artemis had ordered from was found. The Pizza place’s website would then open and quickly navigated over to the ordering menu. From here the order was almost instantaneous - large New York Style with onions, mushrooms, olives, peppers, bacon, sausage, ham, and extra cheese - and a gift card to the pizza place was entered before the order was put through, fully paid for. Here though? Here there was a pause as she looked at the order information screen for a moment. She needed to do something. Say something. The phone’s notepad app was popped open and the following was written out: “I owed you a pizza. The guys said thanks.” "No lava cakes?" Leena typed back. The cursor blinked a moment before the app switched back to the pizza place, the ordering process is gone through again but this time for a lava cake. The apps are flipped back to the notepad then. “Lava cake included." There's the beginning of a few different words that appear but then are deleted (Th[deleted] Yo[deleted] Ca[deleted]) before the cursor stops. The cursor blinks for a while before she finally types, "Apology accepted. I'm going to have to destroy this phone now though." "Thanks for taking them the pizza." Is typed and the cursor sits there for a moment. "Can replace." Another brief flicker of the cursor happens before there's a hyperlink - for what appears to be a personal website - dropped into the app. “If needed, here.” "They were very complimentary of you." More cursoring. "And a VPN." "Site is safe. Encrypted. IP scrambled. Whatever you need. Chat function on there." It was so strange to be speaking but not speaking. While Dante was far more accustomed to it than she’d admit to most people the action always felt a little strange regardless. Maybe someday she’d be fully used to it. After a moment, Leena clicks on it and the more secure chat function. The site is incredibly simple, old school looking with the chat being very simplistic text on a blank background. There's no participant listing but it seems built for privacy. She's prompted to add a user name but the characters are limited to 1-4 max. With the website having been entered Dante’s mind started pulling back. The intricate labyrinth of data and wires and signals navigated in seconds back to her own body. Formerly glossed over eyes with data lines reflecting across them finally returned to normal and the standard sharp inhale was sucked in. Eyes squeezed shut for a moment before she’d shift, reaching for her phone and loading into the website herself. The disorientation of jacking out would take her a minute to fully recover from. Leena picks the username A-->. She hangs there for a few, just cursoring as she gets comfortable in her bed, her tablet on her lap. She finally starts with:
