[The day after Alex moves in. Left on the counter of the repair shop before it opens, with a small muffin and a hot, black coffee, both from the coffee shop. This sort of thing happens pretty much every day Alex works a morning shift at the comic store:]

[Alex still enjoys the music, even if it's not really to his usual tastes. But, feeling he needs to share that, a few days later, there's an honest-to-god mixtape sitting next to Mal's morning coffee.]
