"Keep me in line? But I always behave," John told Jen with a laugh as he looked down at her. "Yeah, Gibbs never buys that either."

While she went to put her bag in his room, he watched after her for a moment. It was nice to have her there, and truth be told, he really liked being there with her that morning when they woke up. He thought about what it would like to wake up with her every day. It was something he liked. But he knew he couldn't get ahead himself, especially considering they had just gotten together.

A year of falling in love with her to begin with notwithstanding.

When Jen came back out, he decided to push aside those thoughts for the moment and went over to sit with her on the couch, grinning when she hooked her leg over his. Wrapping an arm around her, he rested his other hand on her thigh. God, he really liked this.

"How about tacos," he said, about to reach up to call through to the Mexican place in the shop area of the city when Jennifer looked at him. His hand went back to rest on her leg as she spoke. "Jen...hon...I didn't think you were a sex fiend."

He shook his head, rubbing his fingers gently over her thigh. "I wasn't thinking that you'd be trying to pull me away for nooners every day," he said before grimacing at how that sounded. "All right. I'm going to stop now and just say this...I love you, and everything about you. I'm ready to...explore with you. You'll just have to teach me about your people as we go."

Jennifer looked up at John and gave him a smile. She was glad he understood where she was coming from. "The occasional quickie wouldn't be too bad," she said before blushing and shaking her head. "Maybe I should stop, too." Looking at him, Jennifer smiled. "I love you too, John. So very much and I can't wait to teach you everything there is to know about me."

Leaning up, Jennifer softly kissed him for several moments, only stopping when her stomach growled. She pulled back and laughed. "I think you better order now," she said, shaking his head.

As he did, Jennifer looked around the room. This was the first time she had actually been inside John's quarters. She had came down here a few times to drop something off, but never went inside. The room was very John - warm, comfortable and familiar. Letting out a content sigh, Jennifer laid her head on John's shoulder and smiled when he was finished with his call.

"You should get a day off from work. We can go to Neo the night before and stay overnight. I know my parents would love to meet you, especially since I've talked about you to them." She lightly blushed and shrugged her shoulders. "When you've been in love with someone as long as I've been in love with you, you tend to talk about the other person...a lot. Although I think my parents may think I made you up so you'll have to come and show them I'm not crazy."

"Well, of course, it's not," John said with a laugh. Jen was so adorable when she blushed. It made him want to reached out and run his thumb over her cheek. Which he did. "I'm looking forward to learning. So much."

When he heard Jen's stomach growl, he grinned and nodded. Food sounded like a very, very good idea, so he reached up and hit the earpiece to his headset, calling down the Mexican place. After ordering tacos and some fried ice cream for the both of them, he cut the channel and turned his head to kiss Jen's temple while she spoke.

"Don't think I've ever met anyone's parents before," he told her. Of course, he hadn't seen his own father in years - not since before he had entered the Tau'ri Interstellar Service. It wasn't something he really liked to think about, considering what had happened. "I'd very much like to meet them, though. Even if it's just so you can prove you aren't crazy."

Reaching over, he took Jen's hand and threaded their fingers together. "What's your favorite place on Neo?" he asked.

Jennifer grinned, glad John agreed to go to meet her parents. "Really? You've never met anyone's parents before?" she asked as she raised an eyebrow. She knew John wouldn't lie to her but it was still hard to believe he had never been serious enough about someone to meet their parents. But obviously he hadn't, which made Jennifer feel even more special.

She gave him a soft smile when he asked what her favorite place on Neo was. Shifting a little, Jennifer knew the answer without even thinking about it. "This clearing beside the eastern base of the mountains. It's right by the river, and there's a small pool fed by hot springs," she said with a grin. "I found it during a scouting assignment I was doing for my father."

Jennifer knew she would have to explain why she would out on a scouting assignment for her father. "Naguals don't get married. At least not by Earth standards. When a couple gets engaged, the village elder performs a commitment ceremony, and then the couple has six months to before they take part in the bonding process," she started to explain as she laid her head on his shoulder again. "The bonding ceremony is very private. The couples go out in the woods to small huts, where they sit naked and perform the ceremony themselves. They then have to spend one wedding night and day there before coming back to the village.

Since my father is a village elder, he asked me to look for a new spot for them to put a hut. That's when I found the clearing. Never did tell my father about it. It's just too beautiful out there, and I wanted a place I could call my own."

Jennifer turned her head and looked up at him. "I want to take you there when we visit. It's wonderful out there," she whispered just as the door chime went off. Jennifer sighed and untangled herself from him. "Guess I can't snuggle with you all the time."

John chuckled and shrugged at Jen's question. "There was just never really an opportunity. Either I was never with a girl long enough or we were stationed in a place where getting home wasn't exactly easy." He gave her a kiss. "I kind of like the idea that yours are going to be the first ones I meet."

And hopefully, the only.

As she shifted against him, he moved his hand up to run through her hair while she told him about Neo, talking about the spot she had found. He wondered for a moment exactly what the bonding process entailed and found his mind wandering. When he realized what he was doing, he mentally slapped himself, shaking his head. He had asked Jennifer a question, and she was answering.

"It sounds like a beautiful place," he told her, looking down at her. "I'd definitely like to see it with you."

He wanted to kiss her again. Hell, he wanted to make love to her again, but just then, the door chime went off. Shaking his head, he gave her a smile.

"We can snuggle again later," he promised before getting up and going over to the door. The delivery girl handed over the bags and had him sign her tablet after making sure the information for billing was right. "Thanks."

The door closed behind him as he turned and held the bags up. "Here we go. Do you want to eat at the table or at the coffee table?"

"I'm going to hol you to that promise," Jennifer said with a smile as John went over to answer the door. As he did, Jennifer stood from the couch and stretched out. She glanced over at him when he asked his question. "I think we better eat at the table. If we sit on the couch, we may be tempted to do other things. Although, the thought of licking food off you is rather appealing..."

Jennifer gave him a wink before going over to help him set the table. Once the plates and glasses were out, she helped him put the food on the plates before sitting down. Jennifer folded her legs Indian-style, and unwrapped one of her tacos. "Mmm, it's been a while since I've had tacos," she said before taking a bite. She took a drink of water and took another bite, not realizing how hungry she was. After wall, she had skipped lunch to be with John. Not that she was complaining.

After taking a few more bites, Jennifer picked up her napkin and wiped her hands off. She looked over at John and raised her eyebrows. "So since I shared with you, you have to share with me," she said. "What's your favorite place on Earth?"

John chuckled, realizing she was right. They probably would be tempted to forget their dinner and do other things together if they ate on the couch. Although the thought of her licking dinner off him...

Jeez, John, get a grip, he told himself. He had always had a healthy interest in sex since he was - after all - a guy, but there was just something about Jennifer that seemed to arouse him even more than usual. Maybe it was the whole Nagual sex drive thing she had mentioned. Or maybe it was just her.

Yeah, he was pretty sure it was her.

After grabbing plates, glasses and some bottles of water, he sat down with her at the table and started eating one of his tacos. They really did taste good, especially after the day they'd had.

"My favorite place?" he asked before setting his taco on the plate and taking a drink. "I think it would have to be the riding trail out behind the house where I grew up." He looked over at her and shrugged. "I know it doesn't sound like much, but my mom...she loved horses, so we had a couple while we were growing up. And when I was little, she used to take me riding with her. We used to go up the trail into the woods and just spend hours talking about stuff. Her favorite time of the year was Fall when all the leaves changed."

He hadn't been back there in so long and wasn't sure he ever would, but he gave her a smile before finishing up his taco and starting on the next one. "Kind of funny that both of favorite places have to do with forests."

Jennifer sat back and listened to John talk about riding horses with his mother. She reached over and placed her hand over his as he continued to talk. When he finished, Jennifer leaned over and gave him a soft kiss. "That sounds wonderful," she whispered. "I don't know if you know this or not, but Neo has Earth horses. A couple of them have adopted my parents and live in the backyard. When we go for a visit, we can go out for a ride if you want."

She finished off her taco and picked up another one. Nodding, she unwrapped it and looked over at John. "It is. Suppose it just shows us we were meant to be together," Jennifer said with a small shrug. "If you believe in that sort of thing."

Truth be told, Jennifer's mom had often told her stories about everyone having one true love they are meant to be with. Of course those were fairytales, too, so Jennifer didn't know if she should invest in them or not. But she couldn't help but to wonder if perhaps John was her one true love.

After finishing her second taco, Jennifer leaned back in her chair and let out a deep breath. "I'm full," she said as she placed her hand on her stomach. "I'll have to save my fried ice cream for later, I think." She pushed her plate away and gave John a look. "You know, they say exercising after eating is good. Know of any exercises we can do?"

John smiled softly at Jen and shook his head. "No, I didn't know that," he told her though it did make sense, considering how much intermarrying there had been between humans and Naguals. "I would love to go riding with you. Maybe we could even ride out to your spot if it's not too far."

He grinned at her and took another taco, thinking about her remark that they were meant to be together. It wasn't something he had really ever considered since none of his previous relationships had ever seemed to be the sort that would last. But maybe that was because he was waiting to meet Jennifer.

"Maybe it is," he told her, reaching over to rest his hand on hers.

He finished up his taco and took a drink of his water. When Jen said she full and wanted to save her ice cream, he nodded and got up to put the rest of the food away. Her question then caused him to pause, feeling himself twitch a bit.

"I...I think I know of something we could do," he said before walking over tugged her up into his arms. "We should probably start with a few warm up like a short walk."

He started moving her back toward the bedroom.

Jennifer helped John clean up a little before sitting back down. She was in the middle of taking a drink of her water when John started to speak. She sat her bottle down and smiled at him before allowing him to pull her up. "A walk, huh?" she said as she started to walk backwards toward the bedroom. "It's always good to start slow. Wouldn't want to pull something."

John smiled at Jen, wrapping his arm more securely around her. "That was," he agreed. Making love to her felt unlike anything else he'd experienced with anyone else.

When she told him that he should ask for a few days off, he nodded. "You know - I think that's a really good idea," he said. It really was. Especially when she promised secret hiding places and naked swimming after kissing him deeply for several moments. "Hmmm...definitely a really good idea."

After kissing her for several more moments, he went with her into the bathroom so they could get cleaned up. Once they were done, they climbed into bed, John wrapping his arms around her. He kissed her again before they fell asleep.

Jennifer found it hard to concentrate during the morning debriefing. All she could think about was going away with John for a few days. She really hoped Gibbs agreed to it. However, it seemed John didn't even have to ask. Gibbs just seemed to have a way with knowing what all of them needed. With a grin, she thanked Gibbs and walked out of the room with John.

"Hm. Well, I have to call through to Neo, and have them bring a motorized vehicle up since it's a pretty far walk, and there isn't any room for a jumper. Then I have to pack. So about thirty minutes," she said before she leaned up and kissed John's cheek. "I'll meet you back here."

Once they had went their own way, Jennifer went to the control room and called through to Neo. She spoke to Louis, who promised to send something out. She thanked him before cutting the connection and going back to her quarters. Once there, Jennifer pulled out a bag and packed - mostly sundresses since it was summer on Neo, and rather warm. She then changed into a sundress, and went back down to the Gate room.

Smiling at John, Jennifer took his hand as the Gate came to life. They stepped through it and was soon in Neo. "Welcome to Neo, John," she said before she glanced over to see the vehicle had arrived. She then shook her head at the cougar laying across the seat. "Get off."

When the cougar lazily yawned, Jennifer dropped John's hand and went over to the big cat. She yanked on its tail, which caused it to jump down. Soon, it was morphing into a man, who looked like an older version of Patrick. "Ow! Gods, Jennifer! I thought you'd outgrown pulling my tail," the man muttered as he rubbed his behind. He then grinned. "Heard you were coming for a visit so I decided to bring it out myself."

Jennifer snorted and shook her head. "John, this is my uncle Pat. He's Patrick's father. And, Uncle Pat - this is John Sheppard," she said as she gave John a grin.

Chuckling softly, John nodded when Jen said to meet her in thirty minutes after listing off all the things she had to do to get ready. "All right then. Thirty minutes," he agreed before watching her hurry off.

Heading down to his quarters, he set up everything so that if anyone tried to contact him, they'd be informed that he was off planet. He then called up information on Neo's current weather, grinning when he saw that it was summer like it was on the mainland there. That made it fairly easy to pack, and he put in some khakis in with several short sleeve shirts after changing.

After finishing, he headed up to the Gate Room to meet Jen, smiling when he saw her in the sundress. She looked gorgeous. Soon, they were walking through together to Neo, where they found a vehicle...with a cougar on the seat. John raised his eyebrows as she went over and pulled its tail, wondering who it was since it was obviously another Nagual.

Her Uncle Pat. He was meeting the family already.

Smiling, he reached out his hand. "It's nice to meet you," he said.

Pat nodded. "You too. Especially after everything we've heard about you."

John looked over at Jen with a grin. "Jen mentioned that she had told her parents about me."

"Oh...not just Jennifer. Donna too," Pat said with a chuckle.

"Donna?" John furrowed his brow. "Donna Noble? That Donna?"

"You didn't think she just gossiped in the city, did you?"

Jennifer shook her head when Pat told them who had been talking about John. "Of course," she said before snorting a little. "She does like to talk."

"That she does. Anyway, I'm going to let the two of you be on your way. I'm off to Littlitha to help with some repairs to their huts. Bad storm hit the other night," Pat said as he shook his head. "I'll see the two of you later."

Jennifer watched her uncle morph back into a cougar and run off before she turned and looked at John. "We can put our bags in the back compartment," she said as she walked over to the vehicle and opened the back up. Once their bags were in, Jennifer got on the vehicle, and John was settled, she took off.

Normally, the ride from the Gate to Riverwa was only ten minutes, but Jennifer took her time and pointed out the different things they passed along the way. She also told John the story of how Neo was founded, and about the two founding towns of Riverwa and Winiset. And soon they were rolling into town.

Riverwa looked like a typical American town, with paved roads and some traffic lights. "The engineers studied American style towns when they redid the city twenty years ago," she explained to John as they went through downtown. Soon, they were on the other end and Jennifer was pulling up in front of a small two-story house.

"Come on," Jennifer said as she took John's hand and took him inside. The smell of coffee was coming from the kitchen so Jennifer followed it. Sitting at the table, surrounded by stacks of books, was a blonde-haired man, pouring over one of them. "Dad." When he didn't answer, Jennifer sighed. "Dad!"

The man jumped and looked up, his cheeks flushing. "Janika!" he said as he quickly stood. He hurried around the table and hugged her. "Pat said you were coming for a visit but your mother and me thought he was pulling our leg. Your mother actually smacked him good for it."

Jennifer returned his hug and laughed. "Uncle Pat deserves a good smack sometimes," she said as she pulled away. "Dad, I want you to meet John Sheppard. And John, this is my dad."

"Oh! It's nice to meet you, John," Nikko said as he eagerly shook his hand. "Janika has told us so much about you!"

John shook his head in disbelief, still amazed that Donna had been talking about him to her and Jen's family. Of course, given what Donna was like, it was very possible that she talked about everyone, but because Jen also talked about him, they remembered.

"It was nice to meet you," John said to Pat before he transformed and took off. Once Jen's uncle was gone, he turned to her and gave her a smile, and soon they were on their way to Riverwa. He listened with interest as she pointed out sights. This was where the woman he loved had grown up.

At her parents' home, John helped her out of the vehicle and then walked inside with her, staring in amazement at the books around her father. It looked like this was where Jen got her interest.

When her father realized they were there, John chuckled and smiled at him, shaking his hand. "It's nice to meet you too. I've heard quite a bit about Jen's parents and Neo. It's great to get to finally see where she came from."

Nikko nodded. "And we're glad that Jen finally brought home the man she's been gushing about for so long." He bounced a moment before hurrying over to the door. "Anna! Anna! I think Pat is going to be by later for an apology!"

Jennifer found herself brightly blushing when her father told John she had been gushing about him. She looked up at John and gave him a sheepish look as her father started to yell out the back door at her mother. Reaching down, she took John's hand and squeezed it.

"I'm only a few meters away, Nikko! No need to yell," came Anna's voice.

"Janika's here and she brought John with her," Nikko said as he bounced again.

Soon, an older woman was peeking in the door. "Well, it's about time you brought him around. Was beginning to think you thought we weren't good enough to meet him," Anna said.

"John, this is my mom, and mom, this is John," Jennifer said, her blush still in place. She was going to have to teach her parents tact.

"I would shake your hand, dear, but they're a little dirty. I've been working on the garden today. Let me finish what I was doing, and I'll make us some coffee to go along with the pound cake I made last night," Anna said before she looked at the books on the table before looking at her husband.

"Oh, right!" Nikko said before he went to the table and started to gather them up as Anna went back outside. He was just bending over to put them under the table when Anna's voice came through the window.

"You better not be putting them under the table!"

"I wasn't!" Nikko said before he straightened up. "Putting them back in the my library."

Just as Nikko was hurrying out with his books, Anna came back in and started to wash her hands. "I hope Jennifer doesn't leave books lying around on your kitchen table," she commented.

"We don't live together, mom."

"Why not?" Anna asked as she dried her hands off. "Are you two waiting till marriage to be together?"

"Mom!" Jennifer said as she hid her face in her hands.

John could see Jen blushing at her parents, and why he thought she was adorable when she turned pink, he knew this wasn't easy for her. Reaching out, he took her hand and gave it a squeeze before turning to Anna.

"That's all right," he said with a laugh. "I get my hands dirty enough in my job sometimes, so I understand."

Once Nikko had cleared the books off to his library, John was about to ask Anna if she needed any help when she came back in, but didn't get a chance as she started talking about him and Jen being together. John found himself coughing and reaching over to rub her back.

"We...we just haven't had that discussion yet," he said.

"Ahhhh. Well, let me tell you, the sooner, the better," she told them as she got some coffee out and started the coffee maker. "Although, I swear that if I didn't keep after Nikko, we'd have books everywhere underfoot."

"I'm not that bad," Nikko said as he came back in.

"Yes, you are, dear," Anna told him before leaning over to kiss him. "And I love you for it. Could you get out the cake and put it on the table."

Nikko nodded before looking over at Jen and John. "Sit down, you two! We'll show you to your room after we have our coffee and cake."

As Jennifer watched her mother and father, she grinned. Even though they embarrassed her at times she loved them more than anything. And, she really hoped John and her were still together when they were her parents' ages, and still very much in love.

"Come on," Jennifer said as led John over to the table so they could sit down. She then looked at her parents. "We're only going to stay tonight. I'm going to take John camping tomorrow. Show him some of the things Neo has. We were hoping we could take the horses."

"Oh! Buttercup and Blackie would love that. We've been so busy lately that we haven't gotten the chance to ride them," Nikko said as he sat the cake on the table before getting some plates and forks. "Besides, your mother and I have several committment ceremonies to perform tomorrow. There's something about summer that makes people want to bond. Although, one has got to wonder how many of them will actually go through with the actual bonding."

"Don't be such a cynic," Anna said as she swatted at Nikko with a towel. She then poured the coffee and sat the mugs down on the table before getting some cream and sugar out. She sat down and waved at the pound cake. "Don't be shy! Eat up!"

Jennifer pulled the cake closer to her, and sliced off a piece for John and one for herself. "How have things been around here?" she asked.

"The same," Nikko said before he cut a piece of cake for Anna and one for himself. "Now Donna told us the two of you were part of the team that got through the temple and rescued some of the Gemini. I bet that was horribly exciting!"
