Prompt List: Round Five
And now...the moment we've all be waiting for!

Prompt Lists: Round Five

You'll notice that the Western Media prompts have been handled a little differently; we're experimenting still. Also, please excuse any mistakes; all told we had over 2600 prompts and even split up as they were, things will slip past us.

So, you have a week; at some point in the evening on Thursday the 25th, I'll close the battle. Until then?

*points down to the comments*

Porn goes here!

You must put the prompt in the subject header of your comment. If the prompt is too long, name the fandom and pairing and as much of the rest as you can. (This is so that at the end of the round, we can make a link back to your fic on the final Master List.)

If your fic is too long for one comment, post part one as a top level comment and then the second part in reply to that comment and so on.

Have fun!

ETA: I am aware that most of the lists off site are all scrunched together. They shouldn't be and I'm working on it. Thanks for your understanding.

As of now--1:10 PST--the Porn Battle is closed.

The list of fics will be up soon, hopefully by tomorrow evening unless my connectivity issues continue.

Thanks for playing, everyone!

3:10 to Yuma, Ben Wade/Dan Evans, artist

The train lurched and lumbered from side to side; made it hard to draw the lines. Ben drew entirely from memory, and he knew that was all he would have from that point on. At least, until the floor let out from under him.

The dark brows he tried to render with care, not to overdo it, lest they look comical. The eyes had to be perfect, because they were what drew him in in the first place. Then came the cheek bones, hollowed, and almost to the point of starvation, but not quite. Ben left the hat off.

Ben remembered when the man finally took the hat off in the bridal suite, and sat down in that chair near the window. The light made excellent lines on his face; perfect for a sketch. If Ben had drawn closer, to get a better look at his face, Dan would have gripped that old rifle of his tighter, or worse, pointed it at him, and stood up and moved away. The closest Ben had gotten was in the Apache valley. It was too dark to get a good look, and one can’t get a good kiss when your target is getting shot at. Damn fool never could avoid the bullets. Ben shook his head sadly.

He sketched the dark hair in, with strands in front of the man’s eyes. Unlike the sketch in the bible, this one he would not leave behind. If he’d had his way, he would not have left the man himself behind either, he would have dragged Dan Evans on board with him. The man would argue, fight, no doubt, but settle in for the ride and help him escape at the end.

It didn’t happen that way.

Ben looked up as he heard the whistle of the train, and the engineer call out Yuma. End of the line . . . for him anyway. This train would go one to California. He finished one last detail of his sketch and put it away into his pocket. He then put his hat on, adjusted it so it looked right. He looked up at the gate doors. Presently the guard came through the passageway doors and up to the gate. It was the same man who’d greeted him in Contention, and watched with him as Dan Evans died.

“Bit o’ news from Contention, Mr. Wade,” the guard said as he unlocked the gate and bound Ben’s wrists with those damnable iron shackles.

“Oh? What would that be?” Ben asked, not interested in the least.

“That feller who’d brought yer to the train pulled through,” the guard said, “still doin’ mighty bad, though. But, damn, what a tough ‘un.” The guard led Ben Wade down the rail stairs to the waiting Yuma guards. Ben looked up at the sky, the blue sky had a few white clouds scattered over the horizon, and the sun shone brightly down on him.

“Thank you, sir,” Ben nodded to the guard, and to the Yuma men, he smiled.

“Lovely day, isn’t it?” Ben said, his smile grew wider, “just lovely.”

He began to whistle.

Is not without shame that I confess I haven't seen the movie. But the descriptions of "that" face and the wistful feeling of it all. Thank you so much for writing this.

Not at all, I already know most things about it and one day I'll see it. In the mean time: fanfiction. Thank you for writing it.

You do know that you spoil me, don't you (why yes I went a little crazy with the prompting this round, *ducks head*)! This puts together all of my favorite 3:10 fic bits - the obsessive regard and the no death option.

To my mind it looks like a lovely day to bust out of prison. . .\o/

I'm glad you liked it. I was worried it wasn't quite enough for the battle.

:)
