There wasn't going to be any sleep or rest until after the boys were safely back. Even a trip to Russia didn't slow them down, as soon as Faith had feeling back in her fingers they were curled around the hilt of her sword. She couldn't think of anything beyond getting the man she loved back. Even her fury at the actions of the older Xander were pushed aside.

As tempting as it was to bring the entire force of everyone on Team Good Guys down on the heads of Wolfram and Hart, they managed to resist. Just. This wasn't war, this was a snatch and grab. None of them had any idea what sort of condition Sam and Jacen would be in and Faith needed to keep this hunting party tight. Only the most needed of people allowed. Some of the city's fighters going in, with Claire and the younger Anya a short distance away as emergency backup if they were needed. Or Claire's blood. Faith didn't want to think of that possibility.

In the end the planning had gone by quickly, as the teams were divided up. As they gathered at the door to the location, Faith nodded grimly. They all knew what they were doing, who was going where. Slowly, the Slayer drew her sword from its sheath, her favorite sword in fact. The Claíomh Solais. She rarely took it out, knowing how valuable it was, one of the Four Treasures of Ireland. Irresistible to its enemies in battle, it felt appropriate to have it here. The metal of the blade glowed slightly, the Sword of Light.

"Time to go," she spoke quietly, even though she knew everyone could hear her as they moved to go inside.

She'd lost the fight from the very start for Alesta to stay home. With Spike and Xander with her, she knew they'd be fine, but somehow when they left, the curly haired blond was right beside her, looking far to smug in Buffy's opinion. Buffy knew she was among many people who wanted to lay the smack down on Wolfram and Hart in full force. But not today, it wasn't the time. Get the two men, an assault would have to come another day. Still, she couldn't help but hope that Eve was here and that she stuck around long enough for Buffy to land a good punch of five on the pain in the ass immortals face.

She heard Faith's voice, not bothering to look at her. They had the guards, and Eve if they could get to her, and that worked for her. Jacen's family should go after him, and Faith would go after her man. Buffy would rather break skulls anyway. From her belt she lifted the Scythe, it's powering jumping through her finger tips and humming along her skin. The Power of the Slayers, her most favored weapon, she never did any important jobs without it.

"You, stay close, do nothing stupid. Work with me, not on your own." she instructed her daughter. Alesta rolled her eyes, but nodded. How many times had she heard that before? It was carved into her brain.

Buffy nodded to her team, and then moved forward silently and quickly, Scythe ready and gleaming. She hoped the guards weren't human, because then she'd avoid killing, and just aim to make them stay down. Demons would be more satisfying. But this was about getting the boys, not getting revenge. When they reached the first of the guards, her focus sharpened as the fight started.

Spike didn't like it. He didn't like Alesta coming, he didn't like Buffy heading into the mouth of the dragon (again), he didn't like how the people he believed valuable had been shipped off to some foreign country at the word of a former ally - fucking Xander, of all people - and an enemy whose face he would be more than happy to rearrange. It didn't matter what Spike liked and didn't like on the one hand, since he could complain about these things all day and all night and get nowhere with them. The only thing that one in his situation could do was act and so that was exactly what he planned on doing. First he'd help bust their two teammates out while making sure Buffy, Alesta, and the younger Xander weren't killed off in the process and then he'd head back out and resume in his process of sniffing out the older Xander. He still wanted to make him cry for what he had done.

"What she said," Spike chimed in. He kept his place behind both Alesta and Buffy, but just ahead of Xander. The younger Xander had quieted down a bit since all of this had started, something that Spike believed to be a hearty improvement.

Xander was ready to fight. He knew that he had not betrayed everyone out personally, but he felt like this was still his mess to clean up. Carrying a sword of his own - one that was nowhere near as shiny as Faith's - Xander took up the rear and waited for Buffy's word to attack.

It didn't take too long for them to find them. The second Buffy bolted forward, both Spike and Xander followed suit, more than ready to play their parts in the search and rescue mission. Hopefully without dying.

As she met the first guard, a vampire, Buffy hacked him down easily with her scythe through its neck, and pushing right through the dust before it could settle. They had to hold off the guards and keep as many from following the others as possible. So as the the others who were continuing on filed past, she kept herself between them. Keep the ways to follow their people covered, try not to let many escape, and find the head bitch herself.

Alesta wasn't stupid, and she did what she was told. The sword, not nearly as shiny as Faith's, in her hand was a blur through the hair as she kept close to her mother, working with her just as she had done countless times in drills, and in situations like these.

The arm that wasn't holding the sword flew forward to punch one human guard in the nose, feeling the bone break on contact. She kicked at his knee, forcing him to the ground just as she twisted the sword in her hands and jabbed it behind her, her sensing alerting to the vampire there. With the blade to the head, it turned to dust.

"If you see Eve, don't let her escape." Buffy said, knowing the others would hear her. "At least not without breaking something in her first." she knew the chances of getting the lapdog of the Partners was slim, but she could very well hope.

Buffy found the first human guard she could, keeping an eye out all around her. The confrontation was brief before she had him down on the ground, arms twisted. "Tell me where you boss is, or I shatter you bones." she said softly, but made she made sure to stay aware of what was happening around her.

While her mother had the human pinned, Alesta kept herself back to back with her, keeping anyone away who go to close. She'd be lying to herself if she didn't constantly look over at Xander, making sure he was okay. She knew Spike would be fine, but with Xander feeling half guilty (it wasn't really a secret), she just had to be sure he was okay.

Xander was on a takedown mission. Anyone who got in his way or attempted to get at them from the back was his. The humans were scattered to the ground, the vampires and demons were killed off one by one. He was definitely not the strongest fighter out of their bunch, but Xander sure knew how to hold his own for just a regular guy. And this regular guy? He had a lot of venting he needed to do. Stupid. Future. Self. The head of a vampire soared in the air, crumbling into dust as it spun in an arc above the heads of his enemies; all a result from an angry swipe from his sword. The body belonging to the vampire toppled to the ground, bursting into ashes before it had a chance to even roll to it's side. Ah, vampires. They were fun to play with. There was nothing to ever clean up after.

Spike rounded to the side, keeping a close watch on Alesta. He was half focused on the fight, half focused on the kid and Buffy, and with what other attention he had he was searching for the bitch that he himself wanted to be the first to strangle. He was tired of Wolfram & Hart. And Eve? Was a pain in the ass. And she needed to die. Permanently.

"Duck, kid!" A guard took a swipe at Alesta from behind, darting at her from a distance that Spike couldn't quite prevent from hitting home in time if he were to land the hit.

If the guard landed the hit? Spike was going to kill him.

There were a few voices in this world that Alesta was trained to react to automatically when she was fighting. Spikes just happened to be one of them. As she took down another vampire, she heard her fathers voice, and though she reacted, both ducking and spinning to be able to take down her attacker, she hadn't quite been fast enough.

The blow snagged in the side of the head, sending her slamming into the ground. She'd been hit harder, but the position she'd been in had done nothing for her balance, causing her to go down. At the most she'd be bruised tomorrow, but that didn't stop herself from swearing.

She had to learn to be fast, to react quicker. She half wondered if she'd ever be as good as her parents, or Faith, of any of the other older Slayers. When she once met Violet, the red head had told her it would just take time. She'd get there someday. Apparently that wasn't today. It didn't take her long to recover, but the fall left her vulnerable, and she had to roll quickly out of the way from a blade, and it landed right where her head had just been. Raising her sword, she forced another attacker back as she sprang to her feet.

Either she couldn't remember what the guard looked like who had hit her, or someone else had got to him?

When the guard refused to answer, Buffy twisted, shattering the mans arm. His scream lasted only a moment before she slammed his head into the ground, knocking him out. "Fine, don't talk." she muttered, before taking in the layout of the room again while she moved on to another guard. Her original plan was the one who had attacked Alesta.

Someone beat her to it.

Well they were here too early. That and Eve knew she was on borrowed time already. The Partners knew, of course they knew and she doubted convincing them it was all an elaborate plan to get Lindsey back for them would work for long but it was what she had gone with. But they were here already, Slayers, Jedi, Hunters. She hadn't signed up for this.

Still there were guards entirely ready to die for her, and she was fine with that. As one from outside the room screamed Eve decided now was the time to make a run for it. She grabbed what few things she needed and pushed them into her purse.

And stepped out into the fray, a gun and her immortality the only things protecting her.

And with the guards she would hapilly saccrifice all around her, tried to make a run for it.

Spike didn't understand it. One moment he was battling off an opponent, warning Alesta to keep herself out of harms way. The next? He was bolting forward and directly onto the idiot who had dared to strike the girl. His face went from human to vampiric in a matter of seconds, a heavy growl escaping the vampire as he tackled the guard to the ground and furiously sank his teeth into his neck. The only thing that kept Spike from ripping him apart right then and there was the knowledge that he was human. He couldn't kill a human. It was bad.

Plus, Buffy would get cranky.

Wrenching his face away from the man's throat, Spike wrapped his fingers around the collar of his shirt instead and hauled the guard up so that his face was only half a breath away from his own. "Touch my daughter again and you'll be missing more than a chunk out of your neck." Shoving him down, Spike stood, yanking the tasergun from the man's belt as he did so. "Oh, lookie, a new toy." Spike flipped it on and whipped around in time to slam the device into the face of an incoming demon. Smoke curled into the air as he barbecued the monsters face, half wishing that he had chosen to do as much to the man who had attacked Alesta. He really didn't like her being on this mission. Not one bit.

Xander, meanwhile, had missed the little tussle. His attention was on something far, far more important. Eve. He spotted her running through the masses and immediately took off after her. Unlike his future self, he wasn't going to play around with the bitch. He wasn't that stupid. Xander would take much more pleasure in making her hurt.

Had she missed what Spike said? Not a chance, except she didn't have time to process or be pleased about it at all. She had other guards to deal with, and she just needed to be happy that he hadn't managed to get her completely from behind, it probably would have hurt more. Alesta was turning her attention to another demon when a familiar woman with a gun made an appearance.

"Mom!" she said, her eyes still watching the woman. But Buffy didn't need Alesta to point it out. "Stay here." Buffy said to her, before the older blonde darted down the hallway.

Alesta watched her go, and then looked over to Spike who was taking on the demon. Well, that left the two of them. Not that she was really worried about that, they'd be fine, but he probably didn't like the idea of Buffy running off without him.

Xander had a second or two head start, so it wasn't much of a problem. She knew he had a thing or two to say to Eve, and so did Buffy. He wasn't going after the immortal bitch alone. One of them was bound to land at least one satisfying punch. She couldn't let this woman get away with everything she had just done. No, she wouldn't. Her guards were as good as down or dead, they wouldn't last much longer. They were going to get the boys back, and Buffy had to make sure Eve knew just how badly she had fucked up, and how much shit she was in.

Catching up with Xander easily, she kept her eyes on Eve, and how she was moving. Buffy was not in the mood for getting shot today.

She'd spotted them both. Xander first and then Buffy Summers, why couldn't they just let it go. Why couldn't they just leave her to run.

Though she supposed Xander was furious at her. It seemed fair. Still she had her gun, her gun might be the only thing giving her a chance to get away. She'd get away.

"Just give it up" she called back, heels clattering on the concrete as she ran through the main lobby, directing the guards to saccrifice themselves for her, and they would. They knew who she was and who she served. Or had served though that was still her secret.

"You have them back. Its done"

She needed to get away, needed to get away now.

No, Spike did not like that at all. Why weren't they being organized about this? Why was HE worried about being organized? What was going on here? Kicking a human guard to the ground, Spike began to start after the two ahead before he realized that they had left the kid behind. Wonderful. Throwing his hands up in the air, Spike glared off at the retreating figures and glanced over at Alesta with an irritated look on his face. "Leave me behind to babysit all over again," he grumbled, kicking up a sword from the ground. "Fine. You -" He pointed to Alesta, then waved her over. "Get your ass over here. I can't keep you from getting hurt if you're not close." Hard face on. No one was going to see the man that he had just turned into earlier; the one that had been so angry about how one person had dared to touch the kid that belonged to him. Spike didn't like it when people damaged his belongings. It was rude.

Flipping his sword over once, Spike waited for Alesta to join him before he started attacking again. Buffy and Xander would get the bitch. He would make sure that there weren't too many people getting in their way while they did.

...with the girl. She'd help.

Xander didn't appear too interested in the idea of giving anything up. Why would he? Eve had made a mess of things, along with his future self. The only thing he had in mind right now was capturing her, tying her up with the older him, and making them both do something really, really miserable and humiliating. Before killing her. Possibly both of them. Sword in hand, he took a swing at an incoming enemy, noting that Buffy had managed to catch up. He really wasn't surprised.

They'd get her together then. "It's not over till the fat lady...well, you know." He took off after her, determined as ever to make sure they got rid of one of the many reasons life in L.A. sometimes sucked.

Biting back a laugh as she slashed at another demon, Alesta maneuvered herself to where she had been ordered to go, amusement on her face. Yeah, he definitely did not like being left behind. She preferred to look at it another way. It took two people to take down one woman who probably sucked at fighting- hence the gun, but it also took two people to hold off the guards. Her jobs was so much more impressive. "It's alright, dad. I know I'm secretly growing on you." she said with a smirk, raising her sword to block the one coming down on her from the demon she was fighting. Ducking a blow from his other hand, she twisted, and slammed her blade into its gut.

"Besides, it can't seriously take all three of you to hunt down the bitch." He'd get over it...hopefully. If not he could let her mom have it later, which he'd probably do.

Buffy was growing more than annoyed she was forced to hack down a demon, taking off its head, which put Eve a few more paces infront of her. "Well said." she commented to Xander.

This wasn't over until the bitch paid for what she did. She didn't get off free from this, life didn't work that way, no matter what fantasy land Eve lived in. She'd kidnapped three slayers, tortured a Jedi and...whatever it was the Sam was. Maybe she needed to ask about that, because she had no idea what was going on there. Even if she got away here, Eve had to know that they'd hunt her down, she'd pay, one way or another.

She grabbed another human guard by the throat, simply heaving him and sending him flying into the wall. They didn't have time for this shit. She picked up the pace, her speed increasing to gain ground faster than any human could run.

Team – Faith, Dean, John & f!Ben, rescuing Sam!

No shiny sword or Scythe, of course, but Ben was still armed to the teeth to get this done, both with his own protections and with the extras to replace spent weapons and give his uncle something to protect and defend himself with – provided Sam would be able to, which Ben hoped to God was the case. It was slightly more cumbersome that having just his own weapons and weight, but it was also what Ben was used to, even if his dad hadn't.

Shooting one last glance at Dean – who looked as though he wanted to issue another five or ten orders in some quiet paternal anxiety about having his son, grown or not, be in a fight next to him for the first time in Dean's memory – he offered up a quiet prayer (heard by Castiel, no doubt, but aimed further still, toward God) and turned back to Faith as she spoke.

"Let's do this," he muttered, checking the straps on the bag of spare weaponry straps to him before raising the crossbow to move into the building and the middle of the fight that started as soon as they had. It was used twice, on the two closest guards who were clearly a vamp-faced vampire and a demon, his efforts working alongside the others to open a window for Team Rescue Sam to break around the fight.

With just a nod, John gestured for Faith and Dean to take lead through the hole that Ben and the others had just opened for them. As Dean did so, John fell into step behind him, attention on the spaces behind them. First, it was to first pick off any reachable fighters on the Wolfram & hart side, cold but efficient and with extreme prejudice. Then it was to keep from being taken unawares as they moved further into the warehouse, following that distance between the front entrance and finding the cell Sam was being held in.

John didn't, and likely would never, pray for things to be alright. Instead, he put all the focused stubbornness he was known for into the determination that this would work, that Sam would be able to walk out of this building and that they weren't going to find him in a state they couldn't make mostly right with just a rescue.

Faith moved forward as soon as the opening was made, her face grim and her sword ready. The fighter in her appreciated just how good Ben had grown up to be, even if she was prepared to bet money on the fact that the two older Winchesters were probably extremely weirded out by the not a kid anymore wielding weapons like that.

She swung her own sword into the neck of a vampire, the blade cutting through the flesh like it was butter before he collapsed into dust. She couldn't spare the senses to look at the other teams. But she didn't need to, she trusted them all to do their jobs. Tenel Ka needed Jacen back just as much as Faith needed Sam and the brunette Slayer trusted Buffy entirely to hold the ground there, to make sure they had an exit to use once they'd found the guys.

Thinking of, there was still the issue of which part of the warehouse Sam was being held in. Grabbing one of the guards by the throat, Faith slammed him up against the wall, her sword held by his heart.

"Where is he?"

She couldn't be absolutely sure, but she had a hunch the man pissed himself with fear. "One floor up," he all but stammered. "To the right, the first cell you come to."

For a moment Faith contemplated killing him then and there, even if he was human, before she simply slammed his head against the wall hard enough to knock him out. Just in case he was lying, so she could come abck and make him pay for it.

Gesturing at the Winchesters, she moved towards the stairs, pausing every now and then to stab at an attacker if they dared to venture too close.

"Sam?" She called out, a faint crack of emotion breaking into her voice. "Sam, can you hear me?"

Arms tied at his back, shoulders stiffly resting against the wooden chair he had been seated in for the past several hours, Sam gave the ropes another tug. Still nothing. His head was partially drooping downward, a result of his exhaustion. No sleep. No food. Nothing but blood and Eve and her guards. Blood. The taste of it was still fresh on his tongue; that was as far as it had gotten, but Sam still counted that as far enough. While Eve had been the one to dump it into his mouth against his will, Sam still knew that it never should have even gotten that far in the first place. He had the taste. That was bad. He had resisted before, but could he keep going when he was craving it all so badly?

His mouth was stained red, all the way down his throat and even along the neck of his shirt. If one didn't know any better, they would have thought that he was either bleeding badly or that he had taken a good chunk out of someone with his teeth. It wasn't a pretty thing to look at. Then again, neither was anything else in this place.

Giving the ropes another yank, Sam growled in frustration. Not a single loose end in the knot. There was no escaping. Not on his own, anyway. Distantly, as Sam tried to struggle at the ropes again, he heard the sounds of fighting from outside his door. Moments later, a voice was calling his name from the outside.

He knew that voice.

"Faith! Hey! I'm in here! HEY!"

Dean cast another apprehensive look at Ben before he followed his father's silent order and walked through the cleared area. This was very, VERY bad, and the only thing keeping him from losing control entirely was the fact that Claire was outside waiting on the wounded to come out instead of inside in the middle of this with them. There were just too many people in one very dangerous place that he cared about. It wasn't the worst sort of building he had seen by far, or the most heavily guarded, but it was the first time that his grown son was fighting by his side. He knew from the expert way that Ben cleaned the guns and aimed crossbow that he was very good, but the lack of information between his baby faced younger son's skills and his grown up older version left Dean uneasy. Clearly the older Ben did this often, but Dean couldn't imagine regularly walking into situations like this with Ben at his side, easily broken, easily lost. Had he completely lost his mind in the future?

Dean shook his head. He couldn't focus on that now. This place might not be the worst that he had ever seen, but it was still no cakewalk and he had to pay attention. He lifted his gun, shooting expertly at a few of the attackers that dared to come within ten feet of Ben. Grown or not, Dean was still going to protect him.

"Sammy? Sam." Dean stopped doing everything, even shooting for a split second as he listened for a response. He was praying there was one, but for the moment there was just silence. He worked his way deeper into the building, toward the stairs, and called again.

"SAMMMM."

This time, in the lull was just enough to reveal Sam's voice, and Dean sighed in relief. Sammy was ok...or at least ok enough to recognize his girlfriend's voice and respond accordingly. Thank God

In a fight like this there was very few that Faith would trust to watch her back as much as the Winchesters. While she favored blades over guns, she couldn't deny how effective they were with their weapons. She barely had to use her sword, only needing to slice through any attackers who managed to dodge the bullets that were flying around as she pushed forward, her ears straining for any sign of her boyfriend.

Her heart almost stopped when she heard his voice calling back. He was alive. He was conscious. Anything else he may or may not have been would have to wait until after they got him out of the building.

She followed the sound of his shouting, Slayer senses focused entirely on the sound of his voice as she trusted the others to handle the fight. When she reached what she hoped was the right door, she tested its weight before she slammed a kick against it, hard enough to make the barrier crumple and fall back.

Time seemed to stand still for a moment as she took in the sight of her boyfriend, far too much blood staining his face.

"Sam..." she all but murmured his name before she dashed forwards, shifting her sword to her left hand as she pulled out a smaller dagger with her right, almost skidding as she knelt by his side to start cutting at the ropes binding him to the chair. "Oh my god, what did she do to you?"

Was the blood his? Or, god help them, had Eve been telling the truth in her taunts and forced a demon's blood into him? She never questioned if he would give in, if he would drink willingly. As much as she knew he was addicted, she also believed absolutely that he was stronger than that, that he would be able to resist. But how much damage had Eve done?

Dean's voice had joined in with Faith's, which meant that she had not charged into the building half-assed and alone. They were here to rescue him. Both him and Jacen. Could they manage if Eve started calling in more people to fight back? Did they even stand a chance at getting out of here when that bitch was around? He knew one thing - the longer it took for them to get him out of there, the more likely it would be that they'd end up getting caught into a situation that he would prefer to never see. If it was just Faith and Dean, they'd be screwed to high hell. But if they had rounded up a good defensive team - which Sam knew that they must have done, he had his family and the Hyperion usually worked with Faith and Jacen - then they could get out of here before things went from bad to worse. As soon as he was untied. And as soon as they got hold of Jacen.

"I'm in here! Over here!" He had to keep up the noise. Faith and Dean had to know where to look. They couldn't waste time. "Come on! I'm in -" The door flew down, skidding onto the ground. In it's place stood Faith and a massive rush of relief flooded through him. Thank God.

"Doesn't matter, I'm okay," Sam said in response to Faith's question, the tension in his shoulders easing up a little as she began cutting the ropes at his wrists. As soon as he felt them give in, he pulled his arms around from the back of the chair, marveling in how stiff and sore they felt after being pinned back for so long. "We've gotta..." He paused, halfway to standing when he realized that he probably didn't look all that fantastic considering the blood that was all over him.

"I didn't drink it." He turned to look at Faith, expression going from relieved to worried in less than half a second. "I swear, I didn't." If she saw the blood, she'd think that he had. That he had given in and then she and the others would...what would they do? Sam didn't really want to think about the possibilities.

Faith blinked slightly, focusing for just a moment on slipping her knife back onto her belt now that Sam was free, and shifting her sword back ready to use, before she looked back up at Sam. The blood staining his face, down his shirt, splattered drops over the floor.

"I know," she said eventually, looking him in the eyes so he could tell she wasn't just saying it. I know because you promised. I know because you're stronger than that. I know because you wouldn't jeopardize us after everything. All of those went through her head and she meant them all, but what she said, with a half smirk, was "you're not such a messy eater."

The blood drops all over the floor, spraying in one direction. He'd spat it out.

Leaning forward, and swallowing her revulsion at the blood on his face, Faith brushed a light kiss over his lips before she stood back. "We're not out of here yet, can you move okay? Fight at all?" She knew Ben had extra weapons for Sam to use, but that was assuming he was even able to.

While Faith was amply demonstrating the power of her name, John's eyes had fallen to the blood with a chilling sort of stillness.

He thought it. Faith hadn't, the others might not, but he had. After everything, there wasn't enough there between him and Sam (yet) to have the gut reaction be anything with 'faith', but the thought was roundly smacked about by Sam's words repeating themselves within his head as the blood on the floor provided visual testament to their truth. Gut reaction been doubt, yes, but it wasn't a refusal to believe that accompanied it, as would have been the case months ago if Sam had been found like this.

Sam would definitely need cleaned up before he was back in the house, as Mary and the kids couldn't see him like this, but for now they had to get him out of here. The others would see to Jacen and the guards in the building; John's goal was, and had been this entire time, to get his son out of here and home.

That was why he stepped forward to offer whatever support Sam needed to get his feet under him and get the hell out of this cell.

After securing the hall temporarily in order to sort things out inside with Sam, Ben slipped inside, not even blinking at the blood more than to check his uncle over briefly for any gaping wounds or bandages. The acknowledgment and denial of the blood being what it was and how it had gotten there but no further wasn't even consequential to Ben; he'd known all along his uncle wouldn't cave.

But dude, blood-covered suck face? Still disgusting.

"You guys are worse than Dad and Mom, ugh," he said, the ick factor losing itself in long-standing 'old people are gross' joke tones.

But while others might be waiting to see if Sam could fight at all, but Ben well knew what it was like to have ones ass soundly kicked and want a weapon in one's hand even if aiming it straight wasn't going to happen any fucking time soon, which was why seconds later, he was holding one out to his uncle. Even if it was no more than dead weight in terms of being used, there was still significance in being armed after being at someone else's mercy.

Sam himself was surprised when Faith didn't react badly. He had been expecting a disapproving look at the very least, not the gesture of reassurance and belief that he received instead. Did she really believe in him that much to take his word alone on something like that? Eyes closing at the gentle kiss to his bloodstained lips, Sam froze in place with a momentary thoughtful frown twisted across his mouth before he dared to open his eyes again.

Yeah. She was still there.

Ben, Dean, and Dad were too. Sam looked over them all gratefully. Eve had been so smug. She had preached on about how he was going to betray his family, she had seemed so certain that he was going to crumble to the blood. He had proven her wrong and his family had proven him wrong. They were all here.

"I'm okay," he told them, finally answering Faith's question. "I can manage." He was a little bruised up, the most visual being where Eve had struck him along the side of his face after he had spat the blood up all over her shoes, but he was more than able to fight. Sam wanted to fight. He wanted to get Jacen out, he wanted to find Eve and shove whatever pain inducing object he could get his hands on straight up her ass. Straightening up to the best of his ability, Sam mentally shrugged off his exhaustion and reached for the gun that Ben offered him. One hand wrapped around the handle, Sam placed the other along the fore-end and dragged it down, taking satisfaction in the familiar clicking noise it made.

"Jacen is here too. We need to find him." Followed shortly by Eve. He really wanted to tear that bitch apart.

"Yeah, yeah," Faith rolled her eyes at Ben with a smirk, twisting her wrist to swing her sword around, ready to slice the hell out of any more guards. Or preferably, Eve.

She remained at Sam's side, letting the others lead the way to the door and getting the fuck out of here.

"Way ahead of you," she nodded to Sam. "TK, Sarah and Allana are already going after Jacen, while Buffy and her team hold the exit for us." It was planned, all of it. And it had been a good plan, three teams working together, with a brutal efficiency to get their men back.

And Faith really did not envy anyone who got in TK's way.

She wanted, seriously wanted to go after Eve right then. To not rest until she was hunted down and slaughtered for what she'd done. But the priority was, had to be, getting Sam and Jacen both out. Even with the claims of being okay, Faith needed to make sure of it, to check that the painful looking bruises were the only injuries he'd actually suffered.

"Come on, time to meet the other teams and get the hell out of here."

Satisfied by the way Sam was handling the gun that whatever had been done to him hadn't taken all the fight out of him, John briefly but carefully rested his hand on his son's shoulder. He caught Sam's eye, nodded, and then headed for the door. Right now, that brief contact and nod was all John could spare. Later... well, later would be handled when he got to it.

"Hall's clear, but it's not gonna be for long," he said, then slipped out the door to take the front of the group as the primary point. If anything came at them, John had every intention of cutting it down before it got within reach of his family – because that's what all these people with him were.

Taking the same position as he had coming in, only now with his dad at his side to cover everyone's backs, Ben waited for the others to head back out of the cell before getting in to place. His aunt would be near his uncle, still able to fight near the front but also protection, so Ben was going to give them whatever protection they needed from behind.

They were on the stairs again, heading down, when hurried footsteps on the stairs above said that not everyone in the building was fighting down on the main floor or had been dealt with on the way up. Not a lot of footsteps, but with a slight tactical advantage by being above them. Good thing the damn stairs were pretty narrow.

"Look alive, people, we've got company," he called back, then focused on dealing with the small group rounding the corner. He knew the others would know to keep moving to make it back down to the entrance to get the fuck out of here, so he didn't spare another glance back.

This was natural to him after all these years; even if his dad didn't know how to fight beside him because he'd never done it, Ben knew how to work with Dean Winchester as practically a single unit. He knew which way his dad would aim and how, so Ben complimented it and was rewarded with a vampire turning to dust. It wasn't easy; it never was, because vampires weren't a cakewalk, but Ben knew what he was doing.

Tenel Ka hadn't spoken for the entire journey to the building. Why would she. She needed only to focus on finding Jacen. She had given Faith a nod at her word and had a mental link in place with Allana. A mental link that had caused the older Jedi to raise an eyebrow in the direction of Ben Winchester. There would be time for discussion on that later.

Rescue husband first, be amused at daughter and crush later.

It was a simple mantra but it worked. Tenel Ka stepped forward dressed in her usual fighting leathers and rancor toothed hilt of her lightsaber in hand ready to fight and her trusty Dathomiri hunting knife at her thigh. The Wolfram and Hart bitch had taken her husband from her. And now she would be made to pay for it.

Allana watched her mother. That Hapan coldness shielding a lot of what she felt from her child. Well some things never changed. Mom always got like that in battle, she thought.

And watching her mother meant not watching Ben as he and his family went after Sam, Because watching Ben would not be a way to focus, because there had been a confusing kiss which he probably hadn't even meant to do and had only been cause she was crying. She'd tempted him into it with her crying and they would go back to being friends now obviously.

She held her own lightsaber in her hand, made and fashioned from Earth materials it was about as unusual as her mothers and...

Aw kriff she knew.

Did everyone know? She looked over to Sarah, who was also readying herself for the fight and couldn't believe how glad she was that she was here as well, Sarah had been a good friend to her parents and practicly an Aunt to her.

"Rescuing Dad...from the ancient and noble line of Solo's who get kidnapped at inappropriate times" she said by way of a joke, but the slight smile that had crossed her mothers lips was gone as soon as it had come. It was time for business

Sarah's smile lingered just a little longer, part amusement and part reassurance. "Someone needs to add 'make a new family tradition' to the top of the list when we get home," she murmured ruefully, "right beneath 'subdermal GPS tracking'," then passed the shirt in her hands to Allana. The others would fight going in, but Sarah had a different goal this time.

There were many things that Wolfram and Hart had prepared for, and with the magic protections pierced, Jacen would certainly be easier to find. But there was one that Sarah was certain they wouldn't have thought to eliminate in the building, and that was why black hair and clothing morphed to black fur as a panther replaced Sarah. Canines and canine-like creatures weren't the only creatures with a good sense of smell, and Sarah, when in this form, had both animal sense and magic on her side, closer to the core of her power like this than when fully human.

Like this in the past, she'd been able to see invisible men and Dementors and all manner of things. Like this right now, after pressing a whiskered muzzle to the shirt that had been handed to Allana and then sniffing the air, Jacen Solo's presence in the building was a trail from this front door right toward the stairs. Even if the scent wasn't fresh, even if he'd been moved around upstairs, he had still definitely been taken up them.

The panther brushed against the younger Jedi, long enough for the information to be passed from animal-human mind to Jedi-human mind, and then she streaked around the fight, toward the stairs and up them.

Panther Sarah never failed to just be very very astrally cool to the younger Jedi. She had seen many times but every single one. Just looked cool. Not as fun as zoo animals of course but then Sarah didn't need to be empathied at. She'd always found she could connect more with her in this form than her mother could. Her and her father had the market on that particular use of the Force apparently. Her mother just looked bemusedly on at the various pets Allana would find.

She wrapped the shirt at her belt, it had served its purpose, and without so much as glancing at her mother, the two took off after Sarah, moving at speed enough to keep up with her, Tenel Ka's turquise blade flashing and taking out several guards enroute. She didn't care about stopping the over all fight any more than Faith did. Their job was to rescue Jacen.

They followed the panther down a corridor once they'd reached the stairs, and both Solo women winced at the same time like a phantom feeling of a shock.

They were close. Both started to push open doors, lightsabers the only real light worth a damn.

At first he wasn't sure. The shocks and the drugs kept him from using the Force, from reaching out and contacting his wife and daughter. But, just for a split second, he felt the faintest brush of a presence. If he were at full power, he would have said it was a whole galaxy away, but right now they could have been standing right next to him.

But it didn't matter, what mattered was Jacen just knew that they were there.

He strained against the bindings, trying to force back the effects of the drugs and the shocks, trying to get any sort of feel for the Force, every part of his mind reaching out, trying to call back to them.

All he needed was to be free from the drugs, just enough for him to purge the effects from his body. And then he could get Sam, and his lightsabers, out of there and make Eve pay for all of it.

The panther didn't stop, moving through the dark toward a trail that grew stronger, animal eyes accustomed to the dark even if sight wasn't necessary. Jacen's efforts to free himself of bindings and drugs might not have gotten him exactly his intent, but they provided exactly what she searched for as she narrowed in on a cell near the end of the corridor. He was there, inside, she was sure of it.

An inhuman scream filled the dark – not pain, but an alert – before the panther attacked the door, locked tight by not closed for long. Where claws scraped or gouged the door, flame bloomed briefly, marking the door in the dark to lead the two women away from their systematic door search. Lightsabers would no doubt cut through lock and even door like it was butter.

Sarah had found the door, and the Hapan Queen ran to it. Lightsaber in her hand and noting her child had done the same. Purple. Like Jaina's.

Interesting.

Still not a thought for now, the two blades, turquise and purple began work on the door, Tenel Ka focusing on the lock, Allana running hers along the bottom to make it easier to open once her mother was done, her Dad would know he was safe now, the hiss of lightsabers and the panthers scream would have given it away.

Once done, it took little more than a telekinitic shove by the two Jedi to get the door open. And Tenel Ka ran to her husband immediatly removing the IV from him and freeing him from the machinery before pulling him into a kiss.

Allana had hung back as guard taking out a few more Wolfram and Hart goons as her mother freed her father, she kept an eye on Panther Sarah too not that she even needed to.

There was, Jacen decided, no sweeter sight in the galaxy than that of two lightsabers cutting through that door. He knew, he knew without question that it was his wife and daughter on the other side and he smiled with a grim satisfaction that he had been right, and that Eve had been so incredibly wrong. They were fine, they were both fine.

Moments later he reevaluated his decision, feeling that actually the sight of his family coming through the door was the best ever.

He still felt somewhat disorientated as Tenel Ka freed him from the IV and he kissed her back hard, his hand reaching to hold the back of her head as soon as he was freed. "I love you," he murmured before he smirked, standing up and stretching as he felt a renewed strength returning to his body, the drugs being gradually purged from his system.

"We need to get Sam," he insisted as he moved towards the door, towards his daughter who he greeted with a soft kiss to the top of her head even as his gaze glanced up and down the corridor. "And my lgihtsabers." Pausing with a faint frown, he shifted to look more closely at Allana. "What have you done?"

There was something, he wasn't sure exactly what yet, but there was definitely something going on. Still any questions were paused as he noticed the Panther Sarah and he grinned. "Thanks for the rescue," he brushed his hand over the top of her head lightly for a moment before focusing once more on the task at hand.

"Is there an exit plan?"

"I know" said Tenel Ka with a slightly joking grin as she helped Jacen to his feet, lending him her power to better cleanse himself of whatever Eve had pumped into him. She was going to end the bitch for this she decided.

"Faith and the Winchesters are getting Sam. Your lightsabers, would she have kept them close?"

Allana meanwhile had paled just a fraction, her eyes wide. "Nothing" she responded automaticly Please don't kill him, please don't kill him "She'll have kept the lightsabers close. I'll go 'ask' one of the guards" she said and darted out of the room.

Tenel Ka looked from the retreating form of her daughter to her husband.

"Definitely a Solo trait" she proclaimed, looking down at the Panther when an exit plan was mentioned.

"Spike, Buffy, Xander and Alesta are fighting the main battle, Faith and the Winchesters were to get Sam and we were to get you. So we'll get your lightsabers, yell at our daughter for running off, I'll tell you what she's done and you can hyperventilate for a while and then we'll get out of here meeting up with the others and fighting off whats left if there's anything. He was feeling better every second, if not less confused. His beautiful, if sometimes mischievous, wife was smirking while his daughter ran off and she had done something, something that seemed to make getting yelled at for running after guards preferable to staying there a while longer and that could only mean...

Jacen looked at Tenel Ka with a faint frown. "Is this anything to do with the Winchester boy?"

He looked at Panther Sarah as if she could offer some kind of answer despite not being able to actually speak in that form. And even if she could, Jacen suspected some form of female solidarity might have occurred.

"Lightsabers, fighting, freedom, hyperventilating, possibly Choking Ben Winchester," he amended the plan a little as he still tried to get his head around the whole idea.

The panther paced a tight circle around Jacen and Tenel Ka as they spoke, predatory and protective despite their clear ability to protect themselves, pausing only once at the light touch. The vocalizations that sounded very much like feline outrage settled in tone and volume as Jacen's system was purged and his scent began to normalize, as that reassurance was the only way to help curb the animal and encourage the humanness still within its form. Otherwise, she would be stuck in this way until adrenaline faded, as this wasn't exactly one of the things on her list of 'flawlessly accomplished magic'.

Black fur morphed back to black hair and clothing and then Sarah turned an amused look in Jacen's direction. No, she didn't actually know what was going on, but it was Ben Winchester, and Allana had run off, it really wasn't difficult to guess at.

"I know nothing," she said, straightening her collar, "but I'm strongly against the choking or Choking of anyone who isn't that snippy little bitch Eve or her cohorts."

Tenel Ka watched as her friend resumed her human form still worried as to where her daughter was but with a mental link in place she felt relitively confident. She was still going to yell at her though.

"Is it really such a terrible thing Jacen" she asked curiously kissing him again softly before nodding to Sarah that they should get out of here.

Allana meanwhile had taken to the halls, and grabbed the first lacky guard she saw. She made a quick motion with her fingers, not the trick she liked to pull but this was an emergancy and they were working for Eve.

"You will take me to where you have my father's lightsabers" The red one he kept and the silver that had once belonged to Alema Rar, a woman who didn't sit well in Allana's memory but her parents said had been a good woman once if damaged beyond all repair.

The man nodded "I will take you to where we have your fathers lightsabers"

She'd get them back for him and maybe then he'd forget about the Ben kissing. It had only been one kiss anyway, she bet he didn't want to do it again.

Jacen almost sulked at Sarah as she turned back and rejected any plans involving choking Ben Winchester. He was tempted, but given that Sarah knew how to deal with a sulking ex Sith there would be little point.

"Fine, no choking," he muttered. "But I want words with him."

He might not be allowed to choke, but Force help him he could still glare.

He didn't dignify Tenel Ka's question with an answer, instead just kissing her as he moved out towards the door.

"Let's find our daughter first anyway. Who does she think she is, running off on her own anyway?" Didn't she know that charging off on her own was a silly plan? Just because he was allowed to do it, didn't mean that she was as well.

"My guess would be something along the lines of 'anything Dad can do, I can do better'," Sarah said with a light laugh, the gave him the lightest of playful shoves out the door, "now move. You wouldn't want her finding Ben first."

Danger or not, still inside a Wolfram & Hart building or not, it felt good to have that little laugh and that playful act. Bur most of all? It was good to have Jacen back.

The hall was empty and still dark – harder to see with human eyes, but a flare of light in her palm helped that – and there was both the stairs entrance at once end and another door at the opposite end, so Sarah paused and waited for one of them to indicate which direction Allana was in.

[ooc: many different immediately post rescue sub threads can go up as people like, Jacen just insisted on having a 'word' with Ben. Don't worry Dean, he won't hurt him!]

They were free, they were safe. Jacen did a slight headcount as soon as they were outside, even though he didn't know the exact teams that had gone in, he could make a good guess and everyone seemed to be safe. Certainly no one was screaming about anyone left behind so that was a relief. Briefly he caught a glimpse of Faith clinging onto Sam and he was sure he spotted the younger, and vastly superior, version of Xander wandering around. Later, he promised himself, he would make sure he had a word with his friend and ensure he was okay following his older self's betrayal.

But right now he had someone else to talk to.

He spotted his target standing somewhat to one side and moved to stand just behind him, his face expressionless. He was not that ashamed to admit he had sneaked away from his wif and daughter for this.

"Ben Winchester," he spoke very very quietly and calmly into his ear. "A word please."

Ben had been trained to react with calm under fire in any situation; it was the difference between life and being brought back by his Mom or aunt Claire to be smacked around for days for dying. Calm under fire didn't always happen – he was still a Winchester, you know – but Ben usually strove for that. Even in the aftermath of a fight, those senses were on alert and that calm was still meant to be accessible.

He still jumped when that voice spoke in his ear, no chance for biting back the Jesus fucking Christ on a fucking cracker that passed his lips.

One of the ongoing jokes in his and Allana's friendship had been Ben exaggerating his fear of Jacen-shaped retribution for anything he might do that could in any way be construed as unfavorable in the former Sith Lord's eyes. All right, and meaning that fear sometimes; after all, it had taken him to age twenty-five to kiss Allana, hadn't it, and he wasn't a shy boy by any means. It was just the way it worked because Ben knew his reputation and knew the further addition to that reputation because of who Dean Winchester was, had been and would continue to be and how that played into what certain fathers felt about his proximity to certain daughters. He rolled with it, joked about it, was as polite and non-assuming as he could be when he could get away with it and had been gifted with charm and manners enough to thus far keep from being Force smote and starting some eye for an eye chain-of-smiting from Castiel onward.

But it really didn't help situations in which sneaky Solos fucking snuck up on him.

Still, he was a man and felt very manly from the getting of two kisses – the second far more of an ego-bolstering one, really, as the first had come with all sorts of 'time of distress' hang ups – and he wasn't about to wimp out at the Moment of Truth, such as it were. He was Ben Winchester and he'd be damned if he'd back down now – especially not when he felt pretty sure he had something there to fight for. That out of the ballpark second kiss less than ten minutes ago hadn't been one-sided at all.

"Absolutely, sir," he said as he turned, smile sliding into place to replace the startled expression of moments ago. "I've even got time for more than one word."

What? Some essential Ben-ness couldn't be contained even in the face of certain doom. However, the essential Ben-ness was scorned by other parts of Ben that hoped his parents weren't going to kill him again once he'd been brought back to life.

Jacen couldn't deny being a little bit smug at the way he made the younger man jump. The Winchester was a trained hunter after all, from an entire family of them and Jacen was well aware that his senses were more alert than most peoples would be. And yet he could still sneak up on him and Ben would do well to remember that.

There was a part of the former Sith Lord tempted to just Choke the boy anyway, for daring to kiss his daughter. Twice. Even if he had promised Sarah he wouldn't. And even if the other males in the Winchester family were standing right over there and really, Jacen did like them.

But he couldn't deny that Ben had risked his own life to rescue his family. And that was something even Jacen could respect, if grudgingly.

He didn't bother responding to the almost cheek of the reply. He really did fully intend to have multiple words himself anyway, regardless of how much time Ben thought he had.

"You kissed my daughter," he stated the obvious, still very calmly, not raising his voice even a little bit as he stared hard. Waiting for any kind of excuse.

And Force help him, if Ben tried to weasel out of it, he might have to rethink the Choke. If the words 'heat of the moment' were used, the glaring might end up being painful.

Ooo, the stare. It was a look that had always said to Ben that the man was probably debating between Choking someone, lopping their head off, frying them to a crisp or liquidating their brain with a thought. Actually, Ben wasn't sure Jacen could do the last one, but the look definitely said it. He'd seen grown men practically piss themselves when faced with that look.

Ben Winchester wasn't going to be one of them. Whether it was actual courage, a temporary departure from sanity or just Winchester foolishness, Ben didn't blink as he stared back at the man. Oh, he wanted to, without a doubt. His eyes were going to need a blink soon, what with the typical post-fight need of hydration. But it felt like a blink right now was the thing between surviving this and waking up later to Winchester versus Solo family drama.

So he didn't.

"Yes, sir, I did." The words were even and firm, holding the right note of respect with the 'sir' but also showing no shame.

And while Jacen had waited for an excuse, Ben waited to see what the man's next move was.

Well he'd called him 'sir', Jacen had to approve of that. There was some respect in the tone, though not quite as much reverence as the ex Sith may have liked.

That could be worked on though. Right now his only concern was the safety and well being of his daughter, and knowing beyond any doubt at all that the Winchester was not going to hurt her. Really, Jacen knew that if he did, he would regret it, but ideally he wanted to prevent Allana feeling any sort of pain in the first place.

"Are you intending to kiss her again?"

His tone was still calm, not giving away anything of how he might feel about it himself. And really, there was no right answer for Ben. If he did then Jacen would be there as the exceptionally over protective father of the girlfriend. And if he didn't, then Jacen would be growling at him for using Allana already.

Multiple responses to that question collided in Ben's brain as they all vied for top attention.

Technically it's my turn, so hell yeah.
It might be her kissing me again next, which is hot.
Kiss and more.
I think that's our business, not yours.

To be still breathing after the next five seconds, he said none of them, because he knew this question wasn't just what about Ben intended to do with his lips the next time they came close to Allana. It was about a hell of a lot more.

"If she'll have me." Which, he was pretty sure after that second kiss, she might just. Right now, he wasn't thinking about how they were from two different timelines and that they could be thrown back home tomorrow. He was only thinking that she was Allana and this had been too damn long in coming.

It was as close to a good answer as there was ever going to be. Jacen had to bite back his instinctive urge to do everything in his not inconsiderable power to prevent his daughter ever being with a boy in her life. Whether he liked it or not, she wasn't a little girl.

He actually dropped his hard stare, looking at the ground for a long moment as he wrestled with his response.

"I want you to know that I'm only saying this because I happen to like your family and you did risk your life to save one of your own so that does earn you some points with me," he started before looking up at Ben again.

"You will treat her like an absolute goddess. You will never forget even for a second how lucky you are to know her. If she is ever in trouble you will come for her just as much as you have for your family. And you will always remember that if you ever make her cry, you will have me to answer to. Any questions?"

POST RESCUE – Ben & Allana!

[ooc: briefly, and before this subthread]

With sixteen years of life experience in L.A. and over ten of actual L.A. combat, Ben was feeling pretty damn smug about this rescue. They'd rescued the people they'd gone in for, which was fucking awesome on a personal level – to have his uncle Sam back – and a 'professional' level. They'd completely beaten the asses of everyone inside (except that bitch Eve). And, for once, he was the person in the fight with the most L.A. specific experience – well, next to Allana, and only by virtue of her being from a time ahead of him – and had shown his dad just how much ass he really could kick.

People grouped and parted outside the warehouse, swapping notes, discussing 'clean up' and debating about the tending of fight injuries, but right now Ben had eyes for only one redhead. Letting out a whoop, one of celebration and so she'd know he was coming and not slice his head off, Ben all but pounced on Allana, scooping her up and swinging her around with another one of those victory noises. When the multi-rotation spin was over, he didn't let go and didn't even move to let her feet touch the ground. She was caught.

He liked it. A lot.

"I told you we'd do it," he said, that cocky smile plastered across his face. There was such a thing as the Solo smirk, everyone knew that, but there was also the equally known (in L.A.) Winchester Smile, and it would be forever debated as to which was more 'epic'.

She was very very glad he'd hollered. Because really she might have activated her blade andremoved a limb and while that had worked for her parents she liked all of Ben intact thank you very much.

But she could ge used to being pounced on. He actually managed to swing her around, her feet never touching the ground and he held her there, and it felt good to be there. It felt right in so many ways.

"You did" she conceded, "You told me, and they're both okay"

She cast a glance to her father and to Sam as if confirming this for herself before meeting Ben's gaze again still wrapped in his arms, she still wasn't sure why he'd kissed her, if it was a comfort thing cause she'd been crying. If he just thought she was hot. But really in Allana's opinion there was only one way to find out.

Ducking her head to his own Allana initiated a second kiss pressing her lips against him almost smiling as she teased his mouth open. Yes it was entirely possible everyone could see them. But that was okay. Everything was okay.

Her feet still hadn't touched the ground.

The earlier kiss hadn't been just any one thing. Comfort, attraction, years of what ifs and more had all mingled to be behind that kiss. But the comfort aspect had been a worry he'd tucked away to get the job done tonight, worried she would quickly regret it. Her kissing him... well, that told a different story entirely.

Ben's surprised laugh was lost in the joining of their lips, needing no more encouragement than what she did to essentially let her have her way with him. Well, within the boundaries of the kiss, that was. Anyone within eyesight – which, honestly, was everyone, what with them all congregated outside right now – could see them and it really would not be good to fully explore the other boundaries of her having her way with him.

That people could see them kissing was a fact Ben didn't care about at all. He wasn't even thinking about the rest of them right now, just her and how much she seemed to find, in ways that went far beyond her physically in his arms. Loosening his grip just a touch, he let her slide down his body to her feet so he could free his hands – which, fairly, was likely not the best plan for his still-on-adrenaline-overdrive body, but it was better than, say, gripping her legs and wrapping them around his waist.

Hands thus freed, he buried one in her hair and kept her close to him with the other. She'd proven his earlier kiss hadn't been ill-advised or completely insane, now he was going to prove he wasn't just here for comfort kisses.
