WHO: Sky Tate & Open
WHAT: Sky wanders around deep in thought and ends up in a cafe some place in L.A.
WHEN: Saturday afternoon.
WHERE: A cafe.
RATING: PG 13
STATUS: Incomplete.
Awkward. It was something that Sky had grown intimately knowledgeable with since Jack had joined their team. It seemed like every other week they were put in some sort of awkward, frustrating, annoying, and life or death situation or another. You'd think he'd get used to it, but there had been a moment - a time - when things hadn't been so awkward between. They'd actually come to an understanding andto be - dare he say it? - friends.
Since they'd been stuck together in this place - granted, Jack longer than Sky - the two hadn't been able to find their way back to that smooth and almost easy place where they could be friends. Sky wouldn't deny the fact that he missed that. Or the fact that it had meant something to him. However, something - and he wasn't sure what - prevented him from letting things go. Especially considering Jack had just mounted up the Stupid Points. He sometimes wondered if he was too hard on Jack. If maybe he expected to much from him. Or if maybe there was something else going on at the root of his anger.
He'd searchd and there wasn't. Although, sometimes he wondered if his anger was more to do with being stuck here, Blue, and with Jack who had seemed to revert back to the old Jack that infuriated him and less to do with Jack himself. Maybe he was projecting like Jack had insinuated. Was he jealous that he wasn't able to go back home and be Red like he was supposed to be doing right now? It was just a mess and he knew that and he knew the easiest way to deal with this was to just. Talk to Jack. Figure out why he was acting out, which they had for a moment, but Sky had been to angry to let him really finish. He felt bad for Jack's friend, Sam, who could sense the tension and excused himself back in the hospital.
Jack had been back since then. Living in the house, Sky put forth effort to make sure Jack was okay, but there was still the unspoken...whatever...that they shared. There were moments, though, when he looked at Jack and smiled and for two seconds things almost seemed like everything was okay. But then it'd pass. And in those moments, Sky would realize that... He kind of missed him.
He wandered around the city today and wondered what exactly would need to happen so that they would stop feeling so...tense around each other. In his messanger bag, he had a book, a notebook, and some water. And a stake, of course. He'd decided to spend the day on his own, and tried to get his head back in the game. Maybe find some peace. Find a way to let go. Eventually, Sky found himself at a cafe, sat down, and pulled out his notebook while he waited for the waitress to drop by.
