A legitimate source of income had become necessary and so a few weeks ago, Babs had taken a part time job at a public middle school library. It wasn't quite like her first job in Gotham where she'd been a research librarian, but it was something at least, and she was enjoying it. The kids were nice and most importantly, she had enough moments of free time throughout the day that she could concentrate on other things as well. As it was, she was thinking that today she should have called out.
"Bad shrimp for lunch," Babs said, holding her stomach in a slightly pathetic way. The lunch bell had just rung, calling everyone back into the building and she could only think about how she needed to get back out. She looked at Lucy, the woman she worked at the circulation desk with. "I think I need to get home."
She didn't exactly wait for an affirmation from Lucy, instead she began to gather her things almost immediately and headed back out from behind the desk. As she made her way towards the doors, she pulled out her phone and listened to Diana's last communication one more time. She bit her lip, shaking her head as she approached her car. "Damnit."
In her experience it was never good when someone managed to take a member of the Justice League against their will, and while perhaps she was over reacting (she didn't have all the facts yet) none of this was looking good for the long run.
