Who: Edward Cullen, Bella Swan Where: Some cafe When: Tuesday evening, after dark
Edward had to admit that things had been easier when the sun had dissapeared. Luckily he had caught Bella's post just as the sun had started to sink so there wasn't much time to wait before he could go see her. He smirked a little as he slipped behind the wheel of his silver volvo thinking of how he was a real vampire now, confined indoors most of the day. Sunny LA was definately not his favourite place to be.
At least Bella was here now, albeit a younger and decidedly more human Bella than the one he had gotten used to. He didn't care though, he would take any Bella at this point. It had been hard, finding himself in LA for whatever reason without Bella. He wouldn't admit it but he had taken to just wandering aimlessly around his apartment for hours, unable to focus or settle on anything.
Her smell hit him from blocks away and he briefly wondered if he could handle that again. He had gotten so used to not having to be careful, not having to hold back and worry every second that the wrong flick of his wrist would kill her. Or that he would simply lose control. He gripped the wheel tighter as he wove between cars, making the trip in a fraction of the time it should have taken.
Edward sat outside for a moment, letting the old framiliar scent wash over him. He couldn't help but think what a difference two years had made. The reality he left behind had Bella his wife, had her a vampire. Their greatest desires fulfilled. And now she was here fresh from their talk in the meadow after the newborn fight. He was glad it was at least that and not during the time he had foolishly left her.
His anticipation at seeing her finally overwhelmed his need to steady himself against the temptation of her human self and he got out of the car. Entering the cafe it took all of half a second for his eyes to land on her form. He hadn't realized how much he had missed her till that moment. He wasn't even sure if he could describe it if needed, the way it calmed him and made everything right again.
