While the ride back to their penthouse courtesy of the stolen car had been exhilerating in a way, Padmé was quite relieved when they at long last stepped through the doors leading into their new home. Still holding to Luke's hand - having only let go long enough for them to ride in the car - she gave her son a reassuring smile as she led him inside and, at long last, felt secure enough to release him.
To her mild surprise, nothing seemed to be lying in pieces at first glance. Of course, that didn't mean that there wasn't some appliance currently in the process of being re-built in the kitchen, or their bedroom, or any other part of the spacious penthouse, but the living room and foyer area was clear. Perhaps Anakin had, at long last, run out of things to take apart?
Slipping off her light jacket, she hung it on the hook and sighed softly, glancing toward her husband. They still needed to tell the boy the truth regarding who 'Lord Vader' was as it related to him. She couldn't help the small mental scowl at the mere thought of that accursed name. Having to contend with the Vader side of her husband was bad enough. Having to contend with her own son nearly worshiping said Vader side was going to be virtual torture. Although she at least hoped, once he learned that this man was his father, he wouldn't feel the need to use that name all the time. She really wasn't fond of it, at all.
Padmé slowly made her way toward the bedroom she shared with Anakin, in search of the telephone. She rarely used it - and only for work necessity, then - but this was one of those times. "I need to contact someone," she explained to Luke as she paused in the doorway and looked to him with a smile. "Feel free to look around. I won't be but a moment." If even that, she thought, as she disappeared into the bedroom. How long did it take for one to technically get fired from their job?
