Who: Tracey Davis and Theodore Nott
What: A visit to St. Mungo's upon receiving an owl.
Where: St. Mungo's.
When: November 9, 5:20 AM.
Rating: Worksafe...maybe.
He was awoken by an owl that had arrived at his bedroom window at an ungodly hour. He put it off at first, but the owl persisted in its blasted knocking on the window. Theodore had grumbled to himself as he pulled himself out of bed to deal with that annoyance and to get back to sleep. He rubbed his eyes, as they were still bleary with sleep. He hoped it wasn't some sort of loon of a client, as some of the old codgers typically got up at this ungodly hour. And for once he was able to get a good night's sleep. He didn't have any jobs lined up until noon that day and wanted to take advantage of that late start.
Upon opening the window the tawny owl zipped in with a chilly breeze, and rested upon the nearest bedpost. It held out a leg with a piece of rolled up parchment. He unrolled it, taking the tiny, fiddly note in his fingers. He read it once, and then again, and found himself jerked into the world of the awake.
---
Twenty five minutes later, he was briskly "walking" (it was more akin to jogging and running) down a hallway, having received the room number from a witch at the desk. He had remembered the last time he had ever been in a hospital, and felt a baseline anxiety at being in St. Mungo's. But it was elevated by the confusion related to finding the Information Desk, and the actual room. He wasn't exactly sure in what condition he would find her, and didn't really think he could handle anything too gruesome at this point in the morning. He had finally reached the room and paused for a brief moment for a breath before entering.
