How to apply
1. Check our character list to ensure the character you want is not already taken. You should also check to see what (if any) other characters from your fandom are currently in play; bear in mind that you will have to deal with them.
2. Create the journal for your character to have. It's best to choose a name that reflects what the character might choose to use himself. Journals with names like "pipsy_is_PeterPetrelli" are not acceptable, and will be rejected out of hand on the basis that if you are either insufficiently familiar with the character or not sufficiently creative enough to come up with a relevant name then you're probably not going to make a good hand of RPing them.
3. Copy and paste the following into a comment to this post with your answers (NB all comments are screened):
Your name:
OOC journal (where you can be reached out of character):
Name of character:
IC journal (where character can be found):
Canon/Fandom character originates from:
Character outline (personality sketch, how they might react to other characters, etc. Approx. 250 words):
Character history (background of the character; be sure to differentiate between canon and what you've created yourself. Approx 250 words):
Point at which character is at in/departing from canon:
Sample intro post to either the comm, or your character's IJ
Were you referred here by a current player? And if so, who?
Are you joining with any friends? (If so, please specify who they intend to play so that their application can be approved without having to consult you beforehand.)
4. Edit your character's IJ profile to include a link to your personal IJ or LJ, the character's name and fandom, as well as a standard RP-based disclaimer, such as: "This is a character journal for use in the RP onlineasylum. No money is being made from participation in this role play game, and no infringement is intended."
5. With your IC journal, apply to join the IC asylum (onlineasylum) the OOC asylum (onlineasylumooc), and the Logs Asylum (onlineasylumlog). It's probably best if you friend all three asylums as well, to ensure you don't miss anything.
Please apply to join the asylums either before or IMMEDIATELY AFTER submitting an application. That way, if your application is approved, I can instantly add you to the asylum; it means less waiting for both players and mods.
Applications will be processed as soon as possible. Acceptance or rejection will depend on space in the asylum, the content of the application, and how necessary the character is to the RP, among others. The management reserves the right to reject applications for any reason.
A reasonably good standard of written English will be required for those wanting to join and whilst we’re prepared to over look the odd typo please take care to ensure that what you are writing is clear and easy to understand. Even if a character speaks in a dialect or with an accent written entries should be coherent.
