Melissa had been so shaken upon waking from the nightmare sleep she'd been put under that they had to give her a potion to calm her nerves when she arrived at the Health Center. She still wasn't entirely calmed, but her hands had stopped shaking and she was fairly confident that she wasn't about to hyperventilate anymore. Unfortunately, that was about the only thing she was confident about.
Her dreams had always been particularly vivid. She supposed it was because of the way her memory worked. But this was even more realistic than usual and even when it wasn't making sense, she hadn't felt like any of it was imaginary. Thank goodness that Raz had shown up to help her. She'd still be paralyzed by fear and likely covered with spiders if the other girl hadn't had the sense to help her see the lack of logic in what was happening. Melissa shuddered at the thought. Her heart still felt like it was racing and she had to take a deep breath to keep herself grounded.
The Health Center was packed full of others who had fallen victim to the sleeping spell. She was sitting on a cot in the back. She had her knees pulled up to her chest and she was hugging them tightly. It wasn't quite as effective as Deep Touch therapy, but it was helping her. She was still waiting to be properly examined to make sure that there were no lasting effects from the water from her tea. She made a mental note to only consume bottled water from now on.
