So that's the ad image I'll be using for the next few weeks until I actually start running this Retribution plot, though there will be some build-up in game as far as news posts, etc. Basically, Retribution is the return of the Bugs. Turns out that no one on earth actually had any kind of communication with them- Operation Red Horizon was purely reactionary, a response to what we assumed was a hostile attack of the space station. It's rather short-sighted to imagine that the single bug ship was the only one in the entire universe and that after they found out what we did to their people that they wouldn't want revenge. So yes, more details will unfold in game closer to the event. The event in question will involve all sorts of things you can get characters involved in, including- but not limited to- earthquakes, floods, volcanoes, tornadoes, lots of things that end with "s", radars screwing up, world leaders being abducted, fighting amongst countries, among other things. The way it'll be formatted is that during those two weeks every few days there will be a mod post of some disastrous event in which any character is welcome to participate. Characters may also run their own plots involved with Retribution within this period if they want to try to find out what's going on, or stage your own disasters to deal with, etc. This will all culminate on the 31st of May with (surprise, surprise) a huge attack on NYC by the Bugs. Because clearly, NYC is the place to be no matter where in the universe you're from. So! That's that. Here, have another picture:

Okay, so. Alien facts.

-What do these bitches look like?
Giant black bug things with really sharp mouths about seven feet tall and totally just absolutely disgusting with these random long tentaclish prehensile slimy tails. Bugs. Gross. And yeah, they're sentient.
-So, if there's gonna be hostages, why aren't these things just killing people immediately?
Presumably they did take a few of the humans before to their ship for study. Before they ate them. Their initial attack was meant to clear the place out. Now that they're being invaded it's more of a warring situation, there's hostages for leverage, and of course these things will want to study and experiment upon super-human beings.
-And finally, just to reiterate, the event isn't really multi-thread. Just do individual posts with plot: horizon tags whenever you feel like it during the days of the event (lasts till the 3rd) since everyone seems to have at least one thing planned. Not to say your individual threads can't be multi-character of course. And every day I'll try to do a summary with Nick's net posts.

Now, Space stuff. Space starts today. Here's our final roster:
Iron Man, Scarlet Witch, Nick Fury, Spider-Man, Spider-Woman, Mimic, Deadpool, Elektra, Rogue, Black Cat, Polaris, Quicksilver, Cap, Mystique, Susan Storm, Colossus.

Basically the format of this will be different from other events. I like trying out new and innovative ideas. So, basically, at the start of each day of the space thing Nick will do a net post that serves as a sort of "captain's log" if you will, that will summarize the events of the previous day and introduce whatever's going on that day. Then you can make entries with whatever it is you have your characters doing (make sure to add the plot: space tag to them). You don't have to have an entry every day but you also don't have to limit yourself to only one entry for the entire event.

Consider today to be set on the shuttle (I mean logically we need at least one day of travel) so if you want random small talk or anything on the shuttle, have at. Up in space itself there will be a several day long "war" with the aliens and characters can wander off on their own, attack the aliens, be kidnapped and taken to the alien ship. Whatever you'd like, I don't expect anyone to stick around the "base" just because Nick orders it (and Mr. Fury is also resigned to this fact). Enjoy yourselves, kick some alien ass :D.
