Scott watched the doctor closely. The papers didn't make sense to him, which made him wish he knew where Hank was. As he moved through the speech quickly, Scott shuffled through the group. As he did, he heard they were bringing out the live demonstration.
They weren't going to use it as a weapon, and only as defense against criminals? Bullshit. Scott knew how the government saw thing. Sure they would only use it as defense...until someone decided all mutants should have access to the cure.
"This is Mr. Barbelney. He is a mutant, and was caught using his power to rob stores in Queens about three months back."
Looking up, he saw a normal looking man. He was in his early thirties, but had a light orange skin. He had a thin goatee in the middle of his chin and was covered in odd tattoos. The man had a thin strip of hair down the middle of his head in a mohawk. The most interesting, was there was smoke steaming off the man's hands. It looks as if his hands glowed a brighter orange than he was himself. While taking him in, Scott continued moving through the crowd towards the last place he saw Logan.
"Our friend here, has the power to heat his skin to volcanic temperatures, melting through anything that touches it. This was how he entered the targeted stores. Now, of course this cure is only short-term, but it will work well in taking care of mutant problems."
Once they decided every mutant should have access to the cure, they would decide that every man should be equal, and give a deadline to take the cure. This of course, would be after they found a way to makes this permanent. Of course, Scott was only assuming from the way he was raised around other humans.
"Mr. Barbelney has agreed to this showing, in order to remove some time off his sentence. We give our regard to you, sir. Now, without further delay, let us demonstrate this cure."
Sure it was temporary, and the mutant had agreed to this, but Scott still knew where this could possibly end up. After the Doctor's words, a plain looking shield agent stepped forward, removing a dart looking object. Looked like a tranquilizing dart. The agent loaded it into a odd looking sidearm, before shooting it in the man's arm. It only took a few moments, but Mr. Barbelney went from his orange color, to a normal human pale color. The hands turned to normal looking hands, as the smoke vanished from the air. Knowing Logan would be about to pop, he found him just in time. Reaching out, he grabbed the man's arm and leaned into his ear.
"Let's get outta here, Logan. We got the info we needed."
