Tommy closed his eyes when she took his hand. He found himself soothed by the touch of her lips and her very presence made things easier. It was especially the feeling of her heart beating against his hand that calmed him down though. There was something primordial in benefit about feeling another human being’s heat after spending so much time locked away in seclusion.
As he lay down on her bed, he gently clasped her hand and tugged once for her to lie down too. As He waited on her response he thought of Jean’s words with some concern. He didn’t want to get her hurt because of his stupidity. That much was a certainty, though He knew he would have to try to convince her later. He’d seen that look before. That look held certainty. She was going to do what she wanted on this matter and there was nothing he could say otherwise. He could be very stubborn when she wanted. Besides, he really didn’t have much fight in him right now. It was best to wait until they’d both had a chance to rest before taking the notion up again.
