"Let's put the calendar aside for a moment," she calmly suggested, "and address the part where you're putting in all the work here when I've got as much responsibility as you do to keep up happy appearances on the outside while I'm out there busting my ass finding leads on Ruby. If you didn't want to be the housewife, Misty, you didn't have to be, but it's what you agreed to. You're not chained to this place; in fact, the modern housewife is allowed to have a life outside the kitchen." She let out an incredulous chuckle and pushed herself off the doorframe. "I'll get you a new calendar," she said before going to the kitchen, "and I'll be sure not to joke with you about it again."
