Government for hire at a combat site. Left of west and coming in a hurry
Characters: Pete, Anyone in S.H.I.E.L.D.
Setting: S.H.E.I.L.D.s library
Content: At the very least swearing
Summary: Pete continues his investigation into Blackhawk
Pete poked at the keys on the computer trying to bring up the information he needed. For probably the hundreth time in the past hour it beeped at him trying to tell him he wasn't doing it right. He hated computers. Why people had to do away with something as simple as files and a lock and key was beyond him. It's not like it was all that much safer, anyone could break into a computer, you had to be in the damn room to steal paperwork. Pete sighed and poked at the keys until the noise stopped and the information on the Legacy virus popped up. After days of briefings he was almost positive he knew what he would be investigating. Why it took four days to get to the point he didn't know, but it was the British Government, they could barely find their arse sometimes.
Hell, they had a bloody mole who was syphoning off funds from the defense fund into some American drug company for almost two years and they just figured it out. Pete was still putting ome of the pieces into place but from what he had found so far, some idiot was giving money to some drug company to find a cure for the Legacy virus, so when they finally find a way to weaponize it, they don't kill off the important people. Of course Pete didn't have names. No one did, that would just make everything to easy. And he certainly didn't know enough about the Legacy virus. He had placed a call to Moira and she tried to help, but everything was lost in medical terminology and he didn't have the heart to tell her he understood none of it. So here he sat, feeling like Fury was watching his every move. And he probably was. Which Pete was fine with, since he didn't anticipate him figuring out his mission from his search of the virus. The rest of his investigation would, unfortunatly, have to take place in the embassy. Pete hit a button and the computer started beeping again, this time the screen turned bright blue. "What the fuck," Pete exclaimed, giving the monitor a firm tap. He let out a small growl when it did nothing, and he leaned back in his chair lighting up a cigarette. "Why can't you just work like you're supposed to."
