"This is not a vacation," Wanda grumbled and slapped another mosquito off her arm. She hefted her heavy pack higher on her shoulders, scowling at the guide on the uphill trail ahead of Jess. "It's torture." The guide only laughed good-naturedly (which he'd been doing a lot, it was horrible and grating, and if they didn't need him Wanda would've seriously considered that he might enjoy living out the rest of his life as a cat).
"How much further?" she panted after a few moments of sullen silence (except the guide was whistling, why was he whistling?). He answered it would only be a few more minutes. "This seems really remote. Does the cabin have a generator?"
"Cabin? No, it's a camp site," he explained cheerfully and pointed to his larger pack. "I've got your tent right here!"
