Jessica mirrored the cat's stare, slowly pulled her drink away from him. They were going to have to get to know each other before she started sharing. To Nick's question she took a while to answer, brought her glass to her lips and sighed. They couldn't keep avoiding this. She couldn't keep closing up. Not if she wanted to fix this.
"I wanted to talk." Her nerves made her feel like she was trembling. "We don't do that anymore. We've become ghosts in each other's lives and I hate it." A deep blush spread across her pale cheeks as she helplessly shrugged, frowned when she turned to look at him. "What the hell happened?"
