Between the idea and the reality
Characters: Pietro and then Raven and then Regan, and also you can use this post for any threads between any of those characters if you want
Setting: Magneto's study
Content: Almost killing a dude
Summary: Magneto is kinda pissed off
"But sir, you don't understand, I had to," the mutant argued, wondering even as he spoke if he was making a terrible mistake. Judging by the look on Magneto's face, he was. His words died on his lips as he met Magneto's unwavering gaze. He broke first, glancing at his feet and scuffing a pattern in the tile. Whatever he'd wanted to say, all the perfectly reasonable points he'd come up with on the walk up to the manor where he'd been summoned, disappeared under that cold glare.
"You had to," Magneto repeated, clicking his tongue against his teeth disdainfully. The acolyte in front of him got up the courage to nod and look him in the face again, but he soon balked and went back to his careful inspection of the floor.
"And I suppose you had to incite a riot? Because he mouthed-off. Beating the man in front of witnesses, rather than following instructions and bringing him to me, was worth disrupting the peace, was it?"
"I-I don't..." the mutant stuttered, trailed off, unable to ignore a thrill of fear.
"You're aware, I suppose- Peepers, isn't it?" he asked, and the mutant nodded. Erik continued, "So you realize, Peepers, that if the riot spread and I lost control it would kill us all. And yet still you acted rashly. Didn't I warn you and the rest of the Brotherhood, repeatedly, of the potential consequences?"
"You uh, you might've said something to that effect before, yeah," Peepers admitted grudgingly. Erik raised his eyebrows in feigned surprise. A metal sphere that rotated lazily above Magneto's desk like a strange office ornament, rose higher into the air before hurtling across the room at the terrified mutant. It spread over his head before he could fight against it. Dripping like molten metal, it formed a horrible shining death mask as it filled the orifices of his face. Erik did not end the assault until Peepers fell, suffocating and twitching, to the tiles with his fingers curled above him in a futile grasp at life. As the metal flowed away from him, the mutant rolled onto his side and took great shuddering breaths.
"I do hope you'll follow the rules in your future interactions with the residents of our fine asteroid," Magneto said evenly. When the pathetic thing on the floor nodded Erik ordered him to leave and he was only too desperate to obey. The metal handled doors closed behind him of their own accord and only then did Erik outwardly show his anger. His shoulders shook as he rested his face against his palms. Something had to be done. They were no closer to finding a suitable uninhabited planet, and meanwhile he was slowly losing sway over his people. His prediction to the incompetent Peepers had been no idle threat; without every necessary component to keep it running perfectly, the contained world of the asteroid could fail. In one fell swoop Magneto would become responsible for the eradication of nearly all of mutantkind. The thought only made him angrier. He had to regain control somehow, he had to restore his people's faith in his vision.
