"Hold the fuck up," Nick demanded, skeptical. "You're telling me you took a goat, on the subway, during commuter rush hour? You're lucky your ass didn't get shot." Jasper didn't ask for his help but Nick was going to give it anyway, partially because Sitwell always had his back so he figured he ought to have Sitwell's, too. But mostly because curiosity was getting the better of him and now he needed to see this goat thing through. Tribeca, really? He punched a message into his phone then gestured to Jasper.
"Bring that fucking goat inside a minute. I requisitioned an SUV. Goat can ride in the back and we'll drive his ass up to Tribeca then have dinner or something." It'd be nice to have company for the meal. "And you can go to the store with me and help me pick out cat stuff." And it'd be nice to have someone to run errands with. Nick went inside with his cat carrier and left the door open for Jasper to follow. When they were all in he let the cat out to explore its new surroundings.
