Fury tailed Alex several blocks away to a dark construction site, pausing only once at the sound of an explosion in the distance. Sounded like Ares was really putting up a fight. He had a stitch in his side by the time he finally slowed down, Alex was fast. Which was why Nick didn't understand why he'd suddenly stopped, and here of all places. Unless this was where he'd hidden the Cube.
"Just give up the Cube," he demanded in a breathless growl, just outside the entrance, knowing full well that after all of this Alex wasn't going to just hand it over. Not if what Alex had drawn in those pictures was really the future. He didn't want to kill the kid, but he was starting to understand why he might have to. Hammer's S.H.I.E.L.D. was not where the Tesseract needed to be, and simply knowing that the lesser of all evils had it wouldn't be enough. He heard Iron Man's voice in his ear, but he ignored it.
