The important thing is the educational experience itself-
Characters: Cassie and Peter and Bobbi to keep her company until Peter shows up
Setting: NYU Campus
Content: Nothing questionable
Summary: Cassie and Peter at school and maybe some bad guy comes along, that's usually how these things go.
School was not something Cassie had ever been especially fond of and, three days in at college, she knew she hadn't missed it either. Sure, it was a lot different here than high school (definitely different from the tutor Tony had got for her last year of regular school)- a lot less structured- but that didn't mean she liked it much. Not like Peter did, Peter took to this place like a fish to water. They weren't even in any classes together but it wasn't like she could even keep up with the stuff he was taking and he'd probably been doing AP classes all through high school while she was running around cutting classes and being a superhero. Juggling the two had never been her strong suit. Peter had done both and held down a part time job, she had to give him credit- but then, she knew the kind of guy he'd grown up to be, at least in her universe, so he deserved all the credit she could give.
This NYU thing was, for Cassie, a means to an end. Not the usual end of like, degree and career and stuff. At nineteen she already had a career and she was really good at it, thank you very much. No, this school stuff let her carry on with that career. This was the establishment of an actual secret identity because S.H.I.E.l.D. knew what she was but S.H.I.E.L.D. wasn't run by Nick anymore and the Avengers were kind of in shambles. Cassie Lang knew, all too well, the worst that vigilantism could get you and she was older now, less naive. If the worst happened she needed a way to keep her head down and get done what she needed to do, even if it had to be in secret. That was another of those things that Peter seemed to have the hang of. Well Cassie was figuring it out, how to live two lives instead of stubbornly insisting on one and living the other one only grudgingly. Maybe she'd even get back to Stark Industries at some point and slip the part time job in there, too.
Or maybe not if her math class was any indication of the kind of work she'd have to do. That had been brutal and between the homework from there and an essay for comp I and some biology crap she didn't know how she was going to even have time for sleep. At least the tutor had paced everything, this was terrible. Cassie left college Algebra feeling like a zombie as she stumbled into a quad and fell onto a bench. Other people had similarly dazed expressions and lost expressions so at least she wasn't alone in this. She dragged her phone from her bag and texted Peter, who should've been getting out of some complicated chemistry something or other right about now, and asked if he wanted to have lunch. She needed refueling and a nap and maybe to drop out or something.
