She just couldn't help herself, she was a real sucker for something so pretty and it had the added benefit of being incredibly functional. The awkwardness in the elevator, the silence since the Raft, Tony's unspoken but obvious reproach, all were immediately forgotten, by Wanda at least, at the sight of the circlet. It was only the composure and decorum expected from a woman of her age that prevented Wanda from squealing in delight. What girl didn't want a crown? And this girl could get away with it, given that she already wore a cape and thigh high boots in bright red on a regular basis so there was really no problem with throwing a tiara into the mix.
"This is-" she began and paused and turned a vibrant smile on him. There was the enthusiasm he was looking for. She held out her hands, trying to convey exactly what she felt but ended up just making a weird flailing gesture, "And you are absolutely brilliant." She would brook no objections, physical or verbal, when she threw her arms around his neck and planted a much longer kiss on his stubbled cheek than the one he'd got by way of a greeting in the elevator. She wasn't thinking of how much she could have used something like this before or blaming him for not providing, she was just grateful to have it now. When she broke away from him she ducked her head with an impish smirk and a snap of her fingers to gesture towards the top of her head for him to place his gift there.
