It was Spider-Man who actually jerked in his chair after the sudden announcement. Although Peter had only known Tony for a very short time compared to some of the others assembled here today, he still considered the guy something of a mentor. Mister Stark had been the one that had really welcomed Spidey on the team. He'd been there for Peter every step of the way and had even given him a couple of ideas regarding the future and what Peter could do with his mind. College seemed inevitable now and part of that was because of Tony Stark's influence. To see the guy just leave like this..well, it struck a powerful cord. Peter wanted to run after him! It was obvious in his movements. Like an itch that he found very difficult not to scratch.
Still, he did manage to stay seated and turned to glance over at the Scarlet Witch in reply. "My contract with the Avengers is still good for another six months. So..my lawyers have told me. I can't quit." He answered with a silly joke. It was a poor attempt on his part to mask his apprehension. I mean how would they get by without Iron Man on the team to look out for them? Tony always had an answer to every problem and now he was just going to be gone! Peter should really go after him. So they could see what the problem was first hand. Maybe if they just talk to him they could fix it?
