AVENGERS! ...Don't mind me, I'm just being the world's best Dad over here.
The Avengers appeared in a flash of crimson energy and Magnus felt his daughter before he saw her, not her, but the locket she’d been wearing since she was a child. He knew the metal well. That had been Magda’s locket before it was Wanda’s and it wouldn’t be Wanda’s for very much longer. What happened next would have to happen quickly, which meant he unfortunately couldn’t draw it out but he could still make sure she suffered. Make sure both of his children suffered. Magneto turned to face his latest foes (a stretch to even call them that, as though they could do anything to stop him) and felt the helicarrier being wrested from his control by his daughter. Good, it meant she was wasting energy focusing on keeping this hunk of metal aloft. A shame for her but very lucky for Magneto because if he was right it meant she hadn’t put up a shield.
He was right, as he found out after he reached into a pocket for two small syringed darts, pulled from the necks of two of his Brotherhood and filled with mutant suppressant serum he’d adapted from S.H.I.E.L.D.’s formula ages ago. Magnus lifted a jet behind the Avengers and slammed it down, just to distract them for a moment. That was all he needed, he had the element of surprise on his side (otherwise he doubted he could have hit the faster of his targets) when he sent the darts whizzing through the air. They hit their marks, one stuck in Wanda’s neck and the other in Pietro’s arm, and the effect was instantaneous. The helicarrier dropped several feet as her powers stopped working and the metal gave a groan as Magneto caught it again with his own. He only glanced down long enough to see their confused faces, Wanda trying to summon energy from her outstretched fingers and Pietro unable to move at more than the snail’s pace of a normal human being. That was his punishment against his son, making him slow, making him average. And making him watch what came next. Wanda was defenseless now without her powers or her brother’s speed, and her own end of the punishment had to happen now before one of her comrades tried to step in. He couldn’t allow that opportunity.
With a flick of his fingers a chunk of metal detached from the deck and reformed itself in the air, became a large crude blade. He tested it's edge with a slice across her cheek, then went lower to leave a jagged line running from her neck down to her hip. Blood had hardly started seeping from her wounds before the makeshift knife was moving again, this time to lodge itself in her stomach. He twisted it, gouging out a hole, and watched with detached fascination as a dark red blot spread over the red of her costume. She lurched forward, her fingers locking over her ruptured belly and Magnus chuckled darkly, his gaze flickering to his son’s face for a moment. He looked back to Wanda and waved his hand so the locket she wore broke away from her neck and came hurtling towards him. He caught it, the chain sticky with blood, and examined it for a half second in the sunlight before he pocketed it. He should have brought Raven, she’d be so pleased to see this, but at least he could bring her home a souvenir.
Magnus’ attention returned to his son again and he frowned thoughtfully and decided no, he didn’t want to listen to the whining that would surely follow his display. Flicking his wrist, a blade detached from a helicopter propeller and came flying full force at Pietro, knocking him down hard against the tarmac and Magnus smirked with satisfaction- even from above he could hear the cracking sound his son’s head made when he hit the ground. He'd be impressed if Pietro rose from that. Although Magneto’s errand was nearly finished, the best was yet to come. The flying ship made a strange groan as he began testing its limits, seeing just what it would take to rip the whole thing apart.
