"Did you listen to nothing I just said? We're not saying we won't do our jobs, old man. We just don't want to put up with your bullshit." Clint replied back, his face full of accusation. "You better have damn good reason for pulling a stunt like that. What the hell are you thinking?!" He said while pointing up in the air where Cap had leaped down from. What if Wanda had thought him a zombie? He could have been blasted into nothing or worse. And could these two be anymore insensitive and disrespectful? With every word Captain America spoke he lost a little bit more of Clint's respect. The man seemed to be a different person. They weren't children he needed to come in and discipline. They were Avengers dealing with the fact that these two were being assholes. "And another thing, the next time you decide the fate of someone, why don't you include more than Tony in the fucking meeting?" There it was. Another problem Clint had with the leadership of New York. He was sick and tired of two people making every call on this team. He was sick of both of them. They were abandoning Quicksilver and deserved nothing less.
It was only Wanda's tug at his arm that even made Clint stop to consider backing off. She didn't deserve any of this. Was Hawkeye only making things worse? He couldn't tell. He turned to look back at her then and felt a knot in his throat. God, the trip had been for nothing. His promise to find her brother had been made ultimately empty. Steve and Tony made him a liar. Goddamn them.
