For Kurt the chime was like a death knell and he felt a rising apprehension bordering on terror. He had been in so many life or death situations but none so dire or so hopeless. Kurt could not remember ever having his fate so entirely out of his own control. It was, surprisingly, Bobbi's whisper that calmed him. Whether or not Kurt quite agreed with twelve as the definite answer, he was at least of like mind with Bobbi that they ought to all try answering with the same answer.
"Twelve," he answered after a stretch of silence once Bobbi answered. He didn't sound nearly so confident as the woman did, but he raised his eyes to the windows and stared hard, defiant.
