Assembly
Characters: Avengers! All of them!
Setting: The Tower, lunch time around the dining table
Content: Chatting.
Summary: The Avengers hold a meeting, and Hawkeye has a proposition.
Meal times had been indescribably easier when Jarvis was around, not to mention anyone that could actually cook, but even with their varying tastes and particulars the Avengers managed. They had almost figured out how not to run into each other in the kitchen, where to leave the milk for who might want it next, and who to ask if what they were looking for wasn't in the cupboard. It was chaotic, but eventually everyone had something to recharge with while they sat around the heavy table in the long strip of sunlight pouring in from the high noon sun. Steve, currently leading the chaos, sat at the head of the table with the sun at his back and, luckily for him, Tony at his right. That sandwich and fries he had the forethought to bring up on his way in was far too much for a single man to eat, and Tony, conveniently, didn't have the self-preservation skills to manage anything beyond a cup (and the entire carafe, sitting on the table) of hot coffee. Carefully, whenever Steve's hands and teeth were occupied, he snatched any dropped slices of corned beef from Steve's plate, looking innocently down at the screen of his phone all the while where he had already compiled a list of points he wanted to cover before the end of lunch.
With the briefest glance towards Steve to get permission to bring his next one to the table, he cleared his throat to get the Avengers' attention and folded his hands somberly to press them to his mouth as he considered his words. "There has been no contact from Iron Fist, and no one I've spoken to has seen him," he announced, then flattened his hands on the table, just rolling his pencil under one finger idly. "There has been nothing to indicate that he's been hurt, but nothing to indicate that he's okay, either. I have a lead, but until anyone hears anything I think it's best if we keep it quiet and no one does anything rash." Tony relaxed back into his seat, taking up his pencil to twirl it between his fingers, and shrugged. "Anyone have any good news?" All Tony could really do was hope that the anomaly in the accounts at the Foundation Cassie had told him about weren't related. He would have to go over them again with her, and take control of the Foundation himself again for the time being, until he knew who to trust. Until then, there was Iron Fist's indenticard, and the mysterious little boy he had brought back from Peru with Wanda and Clint and who had caused so much trouble. Tony was staring with some intent at Wanda before he realized he was doing it, and quickly dragged his phone towards himself to review his schedule again.
