Tony knew this was going to be a challenging mission, unlike anything he had attempted before. He was going to need to be prepared, and have an airtight plan. He was going to need to be convincing. When he approached Steve about attending the Pride celebration, it was casually, not to cut too deep before he had taken the proper measurement. Of course, Steve balked. Tony was prepared for this. He mentioned that it was Billy who had invited them, and they really needed to support the kid because he seemed kind of unstable, but Steve still didn't appear entirely convinced. It took the big guns; we're Avengers. The community could really use some heroes, and sometimes being a hero didn't mean punching the bad guy, Steve knew that. They could go in uniform.
It was loud enough at the center of the festivities to cover the sound of Iron Man's jets, but they still made quite a sight coming in for a land in the small square of free space that Tony could spot from above. Iron Man touched down as gently as he could and released Captain America to step off of his boots. He rolled his shoulders, adjusting to being on solid ground, then looked around at the staring crowd who didn't seem entirely sure whether they should be worried about an Avengers intervention. To calm their nerves, Iron Man flashed them a familiar sign with both hands, declaring, "We come in peace." There was a collective sigh of relief, and some cheering, and Iron Man turned to address the blonde girl he almost landed on, saying, "Sorry about that," and pulling his helmet off to reveal a dazzling smile. With a vague gesture, he added, "Got your hair a bit, free blow out."
