Yet here poor fool with all my lore- Characters: Magnus and Tabitha Setting: Genosha Content: Nothing Bad Summary: Magnus questions the loyalty of one of his Brotherhood members.
The Vinca was blooming, Magnus paused in his leisurely stroll of the manor garden to examine it, plucking one of the purple flowers and twirling it idly between his fingers. He'd found himself spending more and more time out of doors lately, now that the heat and the sun weren't as bothersome as they used to be. It was a nice change from the circulated air and hush of the manor. The peace and silence he'd once relished now made him feel isolated. Out in the garden he could hear the caws of bids and chattering of animals, the breeze rustling leaves, the distant sounds of the city and the muted rush of waves from the beach. It sounded alive.
Today, he was awaiting the arrival of Tabitha, who he'd summoned here. He'd paid little mind to the girl since her two great failures- the first with Pietro and the second with the mutant baby. Of course he remained on alert. After the betrayal of Wicked it would have been remiss not to keep an eye on Tabitha. He didn't like what he'd heard. He pondered for some time as to how he ought to handle it (another betrayal was not an option) and meanwhile continued to have her watched. Finally he'd sent a message to her apartment for her to meet him here, perhaps a talk was the best way to start. Failing that, there were always more successful, though perhaps crueler, methods.
