Setting: Stark's Long Island compound and then the open air and two planes
Content: Violence
Summary: Magneto comes to take his son home
It was laughably easy to slip into Stark's compound. A wave of his hand and the surveillance cameras recorded only static while a side entrance door swung open in spite of it's electronic locks. Two turns down two abandoned stretches of hallway, a momentarily pause to eliminate the obstacle of a lone nurse (too surprised by his appearance to even scream), and then he was at the door to Pietro's room. It didn't matter what Stark said about recovery time, this was taking too long. Magnus knew exactly what that meant. Stark had never intended to return his son to him. Magnus planned for that.
After a single phone call Mystique was on her way in his private plane to New York with whatever Brotherhood members were available as backup. Now all Magnus had to do was get Pietro out, which he accomplished in moments. The task was only slightly more difficult than he'd anticipated with Pietro under sedation, but once he'd detached him from the machines monitoring his vital signs, it was easy enough to put him over his shoulder and carry him out. No one appeared out of dark doorways to stop them and the body of their only potential hindrance was carelessly stepped over as Magnus took the same route out that he'd taken in.
In the parking lot he glanced up towards the sky, pushing out his power until it met with a familiar metal. His plane, flying low and circling slowly, ready to meet him. Magneto rose into the air, he and his son protected within a shield of electromagnetic energy. He felt the plane again before he saw it and with a jerk of his fingers it halted, engines squealing with the strain of trying to move against an irresistible force while Magnus and his passenger floated towards it. The hatch opened of it's own accord as he approached and closed once his feet found purchase on the plane's floor.
He relinquished his grip on the aircraft and with a sputter of the engine and a bout of turbulence it was moving again. Without even acknowledging the two young women in the cabin, he deposited his son's prone form across two seats and then turned to find his usual pilot and Mystique in the cockpit. He leaned over and pressed a kiss to the latter's temple by way of thanks, and then returned to take a seat near Pietro, leaning his head against the headrest and closing his eyes with the smallest of smiles. The lion had, in the end, triumphed over jackals.
Or so he thought.
Within minutes the other pilot burst into the cabin to inform him that they were being tailed by another aircraft. Magnus was on his feet in moments, a frown clouding his expression. He hadn't given them enough credit, clearly, they were faster than he'd anticipated and he hadn't even sensed another craft. He pushed out his powers, feeling for their pursuers, but encountered nothing. Either their aircraft wasn't metal or they were employing some sort of force-field to disrupt his ability; neither situation boded particularly well for Magneto.
Magnus turned to the two young women sharing the cabin with him and gestured towards his unconscious son. "Keep him safe!" he ordered and then wrenched open the plane's door and stepped out into the open air. Keeping himself close to the plane with his power, Magneto maneuvered until he could stand on top of it and anchor himself to the metal. He put up a shield of electromagnetic energy to protect himself from being buffeted about by the wind and peered out at the pursuing plane. It was, undoubtedly, those despicable Avengers.
