Rogue watched curiously as he flipped the deck, shuffling the cards like a pro, before splitting the deck into threes. What was his angle? His scheme? Didn't all card players have one? An ace in the hole? When he told her tell him when to stop, she nodded and held up a hand silently to initiated the halt.
"Alright", she agreed, bleary green eyes locked on the card, taking in the red heart design and the Queen's stoic picture. Even drunk as she was, Rogue could remember such a simple picture. Besides, there was no way she would let him have the satisfaction of catching her unawares or off guard.
He shuffled and started guessing cards. The southern belle merely smiled warily and shook her head at the attempts he made. "You off your game, sugah? That ain't my card", she said proudly, taking pleasure in seeing him screw up for the first time that night. Mr. Smooth wasn't so 'smooth' after all, was he?
Arching an eyebrow at his odd request, the brunette slowly and carefully stood, leaning against bar to avoid appearing like a wobbly top. "Why would anythin' be there?" she questioned, gloved hand slipping inside the tight space and strangely, finding the thin material of her card slid perfectly within it. How? He hadn't touched her since taking up a spot beside her?
The smallest of smiles appeared on her lips and she tugged it free from the fabric, holding it out before him and laying it on the bar carefully. "What do ya know? My card", she said simply, "Of course you knew that all along, didn' ya?" The smile faded quickly though and she shook her head. "Unfortunately, ah' must take my leave". She moved to pull her jacket around her shoulders and dug in the pockets, pulling out enough money to cover her drinking binge and laying it on the counter.
