Wanda stepped away, smiling, from the family with whom she'd just taken a turn on the merry-go-round. Most of her day so far had been spent meeting and greeting children and their parents and now she wanted just a few quiet moments before she had to start her "shift" at the kissing booth. That was going to be interesting and she wasn't exactly looking forward to it. Hugs from children she didn't mind, but she wasn't too keen on creepy mouth breathers who might try to cop a feel or take the "kiss" concept of the booth too far. She'd actually been warned of this by one of the PR people who had given them all the same message and promised them police would be around in case things got awkward. It still wasn't completely reassuring but Wanda'd had an inkling when she agreed to do it, and money from the booth was being donated to a Children's Hospital. She couldn't say no to that.
Now she crept up to the far less crowded second level of the carousel (it was quite nice and she had a suspicion that it wasn't part of the regular carnival, apparently no expense had been spared for this event) and tucked herself into a stationary chariot. There were none of the spinning tea cups and fewer pretty horses up here, so she guessed the kids weren't as into it. Wanda sighed as she kicked off her heels onto the chariot's wooden floor and spread out her skirt more comfortably around her, stretching out across the chariot bench. She leaned back and listened to the cheerful carousel music with a small weary smile while the carnival slid languorously by.
