And when you're gone, we want you all to know-
Characters: Cassie, Billy
Setting: Afternoon, Cassie and Billy's apartment
Content: Nothing bad
Summary: Cassie and Billy discuss important matters
Work had pretty much sucked the last couple days; it was difficult working for someone when you weren't speaking to them. Luckily, Tony seemed as capable of ignoring her existence as she was of ignoring his (save for the glares she couldn't help shooting him every time she saw him) so there hadn't been any scenes. Not that Cassie wasn't perfectly prepared to throw a tantrum, if necessary, but as far as she was concerned it wasn't and anyway she suspected that Tony could probably out-tantrum her any day. She'd actually considered quitting, it would have been the properly reckless teenager thing to do, but then a few important facts stayed her. For one, in Pepper's condition, she needed Cassie, or she would later anyhow and there'd been a general effort to get Cassie fully trained. For another, Cassie still needed money, especially now that she'd resolved to refuse anymore handouts from Tony and because (although she was living her rent free) she wasn't going to make use of the cash for food and other living expenses that was deposited weekly by Wanda into an account for Billy. Lastly, Teddy had been bringing home extra income with his job, and living with Billy now, Cassie felt she needed to fulfill that role. So she would swallow her pride and keep her job, even if she was irritated with Tony. For her own peace of mind and the satisfaction of her stubbornness, she'd skipped her lessons the last couple days and spent her afternoons hanging around the apartment with Billy. Today she lay sprawled on the couch, flipping idly through television channels with a thoughtful frown creasing her brow and turning down her mouth.
