Characters: Bobby Drake and Remy Lebeau Setting: The skating rink! New York City. Backdated! Tuesday, August 4th. Content: Remy'll probably swear. Bobby will be annoying. Summary: It's a date! Skating in the summer, there's nothing better!
Standing on the upper level with his skates slung over his shoulder, peering down into the rink below, Bobby couldn't help but smile. Slowly, over the next hour, the number of skaters would grow, taking advantage of the lunch hour to cool down and burn off some of their workday frustrations. They didn't have anything like this at home; skating was a winter sport, that was that. Who wanted to spend the money to maintain an ice rink in this kind of heat?
It shouldn't have been that difficult, Bobby would try to persuade that dinky mall all of his school friends would hang out in on the weekend. They kept the place ice cold anyway.
He leaned his cheek on one fist, pouting down at the skaters then, wanting desperately to join them. Where was Remy? Would he mind if Bobby started without him? He bounced up on his toes, then back heavily, flat on his feet, glanced around, bounced.
