It was hard to come across this kind of privacy anywhere in Berlin. But, for a rare afternoon, Albus had managed to section off a slice of the grounds for them. It was a perfect day for this sort of thing, Cassandra thought. The sun was out and it was a rather warm, but not too humid August day. She was dressed comfortably in a white summer dress with just a pair of light blue robes with white stitching over top. When they had initially ventured outside, her hair had been plaited back and she had been wearing a white hat as well, but some time over the course of the afternoon, the hat had been left on the blanket that they were seated on and she had started to undo her hair. It was simply more comfortable that way.
When she was Albus, it was easy to remember why she had come to Berlin in the first place and why she continued to work for him and Gellert. The last few weeks had not been easy on her and there was no denying that; everything was tiring and cumbersome and she still didn't exactly know where she stood with Gellert. She supposed that was part of the reason why it was easier to be with Albus - she always knew where she stood with him and afternoons like this reminded her far too much of when she was seventeen and he had come to visit her while she was still a student in Hogwarts.
She smiled over at him as she picked up another one of the cucumber sandwiches that were on the plate in between the two of them. "I can't believe I'm fortunate enough to have to myself for a whole afternoon," Cassandra said, her voice light, but somewhat teasing.
