Cassandra was almost a little startled when Albus touched her. It wasn't that they didn't touch (in fact, when she was younger, they had touched quite a bit), but this seemed to have too much intent behind. And, if she was being purposefully honest, she really just wasn't used to being touched by anyone anymore. Still, she played it off with a simple smile although she certainly didn't lean into the touch or reciprocate it by any means.
Cassandra was relieved when Albus decided not to press the matter. Perhaps, they should discuss what had happened, but she knew she was right when she had said that neither of them wanted to really have a conversation. Gellert had said enough in his few short words to last them a lifetime. In fact, she rather suspected that what had happened in the last few months would affect her relationship with Gellert for the rest of her life - however long that was or wasn't.
"Autumn will be quite the welcome change," Cassandra agreed. She had always enjoyed autumn the most, if only for the splendid array of colors that it presented. "I miss your long hair as well," Cassandra commented with a small smile, which, this time, was entirely genuine. "I remember when it was as long as mine." Cassandra said; there had been the odd time when they were younger when she had taken to braiding their hair together. She knew that was something they would never do now.
