JUST DON'T STOP, LET'S KEEP THE BEAT PUMPIN' KEEP THE BEAT UP, LET'S DROP THE BEAT DOWN
It was unusual for Melusine to agree to a night out with Tamsyn; as unusual as it was usual for Tam to ask. It was their little routine many weekends: Tamsyn would ask, Mel would decline, and then the blonde would proceed to scold the brunette for being so anti-social. The mock battles were never so serious that someone’s feelings were hurt; both young women knew the other well enough to know how far they could push. It wasn’t that Mellie disliked going out and having a good time. She just needed to be careful about who was around when she let herself go..and that really took away from the enjoyment of cutting loose. At that point, why bother?
But tonight was different; all it took was for her best friend to mention that Maverick Reynolds and his band were performing at ‘The Church’ to get Mel motivated. The dragon had harbored a crazy curiosity about Maverick for months; ever since that day he and his brothers had come into the station. Maybe seeing him play would satisfy it; and honestly she hadn’t been out in forever. There was really no thought about getting the other shapeshifter to notice her, therefore she didn’t deck herself out in “club” clothes. Instead, she was dressed down in a crisp pair of jeans with boots and a casual, sleeveless tee. Make-up was light, though she put a bit of emphasis on her eyes to make the blue stand out, and her hair was left as it was in a loose side braid.
The trek to the ‘Church’ was filled with Tam's chatter and Mellie allowed her friends enthusiasm pull her along; so much so that by the time they arrived she’d decided she would even have a few drinks. The brunette was on her third beer by the time the band took the stage, but as soon as they did, her eyes were riveted as she anticipated the music.
