I didn't receive my assignment! WHERE IS IT OMG?!

Check your spam folder first to make sure it didn't accidentally end up there (and if so, please add hofestmod@gmail.com to your contact list and/or safe list so you'll see our emails in the future. *g*). Secondly make sure you signed up with your correct email address and that you're checking the email address you signed up with. (Yes yes, one of your mods has made this mistake before. SHUP.)

Still don't have it? Email us straight away!

OMG WHAT DID YOU GIVE ME? I CAN NOT CREATE THIS. ARE YOU GUYS MENTAL? SOMEONE HOLD ME!

Okay, first of all take a deep breath! Secondly, reread the assignment again and remember you do not have to include every single pairing/prompt/like your recipient included. You should have definitely matched up on media requested vs. what media you can create (and remember, if your assignment has "Fic, Vid, Icons" and you CAN NOT WRITE FIC OMG, you don't have to! You can choose to make a vid or icons, etc.) and there should be some overlay within pairings and preferences. If you said you could work with any character, we took you at your word. *g*

NO SRSLY. WTF? I CAN NOT CREATE THIS GIFT. YOU GUYS ARE SMOKING CRACK.

Your mods are human and might have made a mistake. If your assignment in no way, shape or form matches what you stated you wanted to/could create, contact us ASAP so we can switch you with someone else. However, if you just didn't get the assignment you were eyeing on the sign-up post, that's not a good enough reason to switch.

My sign-up is seriously lacking in details -or- I need to clarify something in my assignment.

DO NOT CONTACT YOUR RECIPIENT! Even through an anonymous comment on a journal entry or through a sockpuppet account. NO really, people will figure it out. We're a tight close community as it is, so it's going to be hard enough to keep things secretive; don't give out any more clues! If you need to clarify something or have questions only your recipient can answer, send us an email and we will contact your recipient for you.

Help! I need a beta!
If you indicated you needed a beta during sign-ups or find you unexpectedly need one, we'll be putting up a "beta sign-up" form in a couple weeks for people to volunteer to beta and for those who can't find one. Don't worry! We'll make sure everyone is covered!

However, if you are using a beta who is also participating in the fest (which we realize due to the closeness of this community is a big possibility for a lot of you guys) try to just share your creation with only one person from the fest just to help preserve the anonymity as much as possible.

I'M SUDDENLY PREGNANT, A HOT DOCTOR HAS COME INTO MY LIFE TO COMFORT ME AND WE'RE MOVING TO AUSTRALIA TOMORROW AND PEOPLE KEEP SENDING ME FISH. I THINK I MIGHT HAVE TO DROP OUT. SO MUCH IS GOING ON YOU GUYS.

If you need to drop out of the fest for any reason (not just the one above *g*) please email us immediately. We can not stress this enough. We totally understand Real Life comes up, but the more time we have to find a pinch hitter, the better. But please don't drop out okay?

OMG, I WAS SO DISTRACTED WITH MY HOT DOCTOR THAT I FORGOT THE DEADLINE WAS TOMORROW. I HAVE SOMETHING KINDA, BUT IT'S NOT FINISHED. OMG WHAT DO I DO?

Email us if the deadline is approaching and you don't think you're going to be finished on time. We may be able to give you an extension depending on how much extra time you need and how many submissions we already have turned in etc. Seriously, just talk to us. We aren't the Steinkamps. We will not eat you for breakfast if you are a day or two late. (Unless you don't tell us. *g*)


MY RECIPIENT MET A HOT DOCTOR AND MOVED TO AUSTRALIA AND DROPPED OUT OMG. WHAT HAPPENS TO THE GIFT I'M CREATING?

We've got a few options, all of which we'll discuss with you if should such an unfortunate incident occur. But we'll either reassign your gift to a pinch hitter or give it to the whole community. If your recipient drops out a day after assignments go out, we'll go ahead and shuffle things around so you can have a new assignment. In any case, your work will not go unpublished or unappreciated!

OMG I AM DONE. WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Email it to us at hofestmod@gmail.com. We'll post specifics on headers that need to be included and how you should send us fic, art and vids, etc., before the deadline. (Feel free to poke us about this if you've finished early and we haven't put this up yet.)

HOW WILL MY RECIPIENT GET THEIR GIFT?

Depending on how many submissions we end up with, starting in early December, we'll be posting one a day right here in no7_awz, using this hofest_mod account to maintain anonymity. DO NOT POST YOUR GIFT ANYWHERE ELSE BEFORE AND/OR DURING THE FEST. Even once it's been posted here, don't link to it or point people to it claiming ownership of the work or else it will completely ruin the surprise of reveals. Once reveals have gone up, re-post and/or link to your hearts desire!

Also, again due to the close nature of this community, some gifts may be easier than others to guess who created them. If you know, or suspect you know, DON'T GIVE IT AWAY! Not everyone likes spoilers. *g*


Once you get your assignment, please double-check the guidelines for each type of gift before you start creating. They are as follows:

• Fic should be a minimum of 500 words; there is no maximum word count.
  
• Fanart should be at least 400x400 pixels and not be just a sketch you cranked out the night before.
  
• Icons should be a set of at least 20 and meet IJ’s upload requirements (ie 100x100 pixels and under, 40 kb and under.)
  
• Graphics should be at least 400x400 pixels and as in with fanart, not something you just threw together at the last minute.
  
• Vids should be at least 1 minute long. There is no maximum length.
