Thread: Zinda Blake and Hal Jordan
WHO: Zinda Blake and Hal Jordan
WHAT: Meeting up, plane race. One hot shot pilot to another. Wait for the clash of egos
WHERE: Airfield outside of NYC
WHEN: May 12, forward dated. (Rachel if this isn’t alright tell me.)
Zinda couldn’t help it. She’d been in this time for three years. She understood a lot of it, and if she was honest, while she’d missed the Hawks and her father, she prefered this time period. Sometimes, however, when she was alone she reverted back. It was a little easy to pretend.
She entered the hanger she’d rented out for this project. The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk she’d found had been wheeled in a week earlier. She couldn’t help the smile that came across her face when she saw it. From an outsiders point of view, they might call it junk, but it was still solid. It needed engine work, the broken gun on it could be removed. She’d replaced the landing gear alright, but the whole plane definitely needed a paint job.
She went to a corner and plugged up the iPod Babs had gotten her ages ago. It only took a second for her music to start playing over the speakers. It didn’t sound like a record, but that was fine. She grabbed her tool box, opened the engine panels and climbed up on the top of the plane to get a closer look at the engine. She probably looked like she’d stepped out of a history book with her hair back in a scarf and the legs of her work pants rolled up slightly, but she hummed along to the music happily.
After all, the sound of planes was home to her, regardless of where or when she was.
