Envy was in a state of panic. It had to end and no amount of running was going to make them disappear. "Get out of here." And he shot into the night to emphasize his point. He was going to make sure he stopped hearing those cries and seeing those eyes. This time when he cocked the pistol, he didn't wait for her to tell him no.

Sloth could feel Envy's unsteadiness. "Put me down, put me down," she said, afraid he might fall and take her down with him. "We aren't getting any further away, it's not working!"

Envy was usually such a stone wall, but that wall was coming down. These ghosts were seeping through like an unruly fire. He kept running until he couldn't anymore. Extra luggage wasn't usually a problem, but an extremely unstable Envy seemed to be losing energy as they were followed, as if the ghosts themselves were sucking out his energy based of the fear he'd instilled in them. Now, they fed of his fear.

Sloth squealed and kicked, willing Envy to hurry up until he reached the road. "They're gonna come- they're comin-" she panted, tense and afraid. She was certain they weren't free of the ghouls just yet.

Those sharp nails reached for Envy but slid down Sloth's arm instead. Envy started to pick up speed as if they could outrun a ghost---or ghosts. Envy started to doubt that they could run from them at all, but he kept going until they were far away from the haunted asylum.

Being slung over someone's shoulder like a rolled-up rug wasn't the most dignified way to travel. Sloth tried to get her breath back first, but having a view of behind them made her more frantic, and she smacked Envy's shoulder to make him go faster. A whole host of the dead women were drifting silently behind them with their fiery eyes and sharp fingers. It was not often that a Sin was presented with recrimination for their dirty work.

Envy started to shake again. "They're getting closer Sloth!" And when he couldn't drag her further, he picked her up. It wasn't an act of chivalry, but a frantic idea that maybe she still held a cure. In fact she was neither keeping them at bay nor drawing them in. It was Envy that had them drawing out.

Sloth stumbled over the uneven ground as Envy dragged her along, reeling away as new ghosts rose up between the shrubs and trees. Just how many women had Envy lured into his lair, only to be disposed of on the grounds? They seemed to be everywhere. Her boot caught on a rock and she tripped, skinning her knee and howling in protest when Envy didn't stop. Her tights were torn and blood oozed through. "Envy, my kneeeeee!" she cried, wanting to stop and cradle it, the more immediate pain distracting her.

"The gun stays." It was his pacifier right now, he shoved it down in his belt. He might need it with or without her help---this could still end up with his brains on for dessert. He took her hand and started practically dragging her off the property. He had so many dead bodies scattered on that property that they just seemed to seep out of the ground. Once they reached the outer limits of where the old asylum say he wondered if there would be some magic salt ring that might keep them away like on tv. Humans Envy could deal with, live things he could destroy and torture. Humans were disposable. Ghosts were an entirely different entity. How did one get rid of them?

"Throw the gun away first!" Sloth snapped back, pushing his chest to make him move. "You don't need it against ghosts. Throw it away!" The ghosts were gathering momentum, and she whined under her breath, already inclined to just curl up with her hands over her ears.

"You better get me out of here quickly." They weren't going to stop. It wasn't like they'd stay cooped in that twisted maze of a house. They were going to find him wherever they went, but that tug on his sleeve made him think he'd at least try. Asking sloth to do anything quickly was also a feat, but right now anything was a welcomed answer.

"It tastes a lot better for a start," Sloth tried, tugging again at his sleeve. "Come on, don't do this. Please?" The ghosts behind them were venturing out of the building, lured by the proximity of their tormentor, and she glanced over her shoulder at them as they reached their accusing hands out towards the pair.

Envy wasn't sure McDonolds was the answer. They wouldn't be able to take away the ghosts. "What's a hamburger going to fix that my gun won't?" He was serious. He was ready to bust out of here by blowing his brains out.

"What? No!" Sloth was no stranger to death, but it was always accidental and kind of like dreaming with the aid of too many drugs. Deliberately pointing a gun at herself was just distasteful. "Look, let's just go to McDonald's and get something to eat and have a smoke, you'll feel better. Yeah?"

"NO!" Sloth's hands flew out to grab at his sleeve, since he was taller than her and she couldn't reach his hand. "Don't leave me here with them you asshole!"

He was psycho. The wails were louder in his ears even as they stood outside. All those eyes on him, it made his skin crawl. He cocked the pistol with his finger on the trigger as he pointed it to his temple. If Sloth couldn't make it stop, then he was going to make it stop. He'd come back, and maybe then these abhorrent beasts would be gone. "Then I'll make it stop."

"Stop it!" Sloth screeched, more afraid of a gun being waved around by a mad man than the echoing shrieks of ghosts. She smacked his hand away as hard as she could, so he would maybe drop the weapon as well as lower his arms. "I'm not a ghost you fucking psycho! Stop trying to hurt me!" Her fear was becoming anger, lashing out at the person who happened to be closest.

It was an odd sight to see Envy so frantic, but it was as if his nerves had been electrified. Once he got out of the house he could still hear their screams and see their eyes peering out the windows. Maybe they'd stay put. He turned back around facing them with a look that dared them to come out the door. He pointed the gun again but it was just Sloth.

Sloth flinched at the gunshot. "Stop doing that!" she cried, her hands over her ears. "It's not helping!" The screams were louder closer to him. While Sloth hadn't been the perpetrator in the misery of the dead women, she certainly hadn't done anything to alleviate it, and wasn't being ignored by the ghosts either. She looked back over her shoulder at the shadows for a moment, then dashed down the steps when she realised Envy was getting ahead of her, afraid of being left behind.

"Away from here." His brain started to hurt, because all those wails and cries just got louder in his head. His hands were still shaking and he fired the gun again to some dark corner not even sure what he was aiming at. So many dark and tortured souls, they were making him shrivel up. How did they have this kind of power over him?
He took a few steps down the stairs, almost in agony with each step. He thought maybe Sloth being in their presence could stop it all, but now he didn't know if they'd follow him or just make him shrivel up and die.

Sloth stared at him for a moment, taking in his heavy breathing and strained expression, then slowly crept from her hiding place, ready to duck if he decided to fire at her. "Where are we going?" she asked, making her way to his side, internally debating whether she should try to take the gun from him. The echoes of screams swirled around them, like Envy was the eye of this ghostly storm. Sloth's eyes were wide like dinner plates, trying to absorb everything and not get hurt.

The gun was slightly shaking in his hand as he pointed it. There was a cold chill that had crept up his spine and wouldn't let go. All these damned figures were closing in on him and he couldn't breathe. "Let's get the fuck out of here." He was literally bleeding and perspired through his clothes. Envy did not look himself. He was rattled and it showed.

Sloth was not liking this new turn of events in the least. The girl who had died alongside her was very much active and corporeal again, following her from room to room as she covered her ears and tried to hide.
What had Envy doe this time? It must have been something Envy did, right? He was always messing with creepy shit, it was the sort of thing he did. So, bringing back the dead, she guessed? Why were there so many of them? Sloth didn't remember so many women being around here but maybe she'd slept through that. And then there were gunshots going off. She whined under her breath, flinching at the sound until she heard Envy shout her name.
Slowly she crept out, looking around for him. He was in the hall, swinging a gun around wildly, haunted by a flock of ghosts who were screaming and tearing at themselves. He had blood splattered on his clothes, and while that was not unusual, it looked fresh. She kept close to the wall, hugging her arms around herself.
"Don't shoot me!" she called, preparing to duck if he reacted too fast.

Envy was starting to claw the flesh off his face as all those victims trashed his home. Worse was that they followed him with their cries, all of them staring at them. He hated being stared at. It was disgusting. He ran out of the room as his girls started to scream. His victims didn't only terrorize him, but everyone around him. This place he called home had turned into a haunted house befitting of a horror flick. The destroyed objects, broke mirrors, pulled hair and bit. On Envy's arms were scratches and burn marks.
He had a gun and started shooting at every pair of eyes he contacted. It helped only for a minute, settling the screams and noise, but once he'd thought he was safe, there was another. He ran from one room to the next, shooting the face that looked up at him. "Fuck!" He said as he saw brains and blood splatter from the back of her head to the wall. That one had been real. He turned out of that room and down the stairs. This asylum was one big maze. "Sloth!" He yelled, shooting the gun in warning. She better get her ass out of hiding so he could get out of here. Maybe, just maybe Sloth could make them disappear..
