"It's alright, Dad," Jamie said soothingly. "It's not your fault, we just...we want you to get better, OK? Whatever it takes, even if it sounds like it's really gonna suck."
Anthony nodded. "Of course. I need to return your photo anyway." He helped Jamie extract Thomas from the car, moving up the steps at the same slow pace they'd used when leaving the warehouse.
Once they'd gotten Thomas inside and into the bathroom, Anthony said his goodbyes, then waited outside for Nikkie.
"I wish there was something more I could do," she said to Lena, hugging her tightly. "Seriously, though, you need anything, just call me. I can bring over groceries, or something."
