Lena fumbled with the ropes, trying to untie him as quickly as possible. It didn't help that Thomas smelled terrible, and she was trying to squint her eyes against the stench which was making them water.
She managed to get the upper half of his body untangled, but there was no way Thomas could move yet. His muscles had been cramped and forced to stay in one position for days, and now they felt like lead. Painful, aching lead.
